I go where the money is... I play heads up sngs so if I want to play a razz $10 game the players are specialists and very good... if I play a NL player at $10 they aren't usually that good... it all depends on what you want to accomplish with poker I guess... I've played all the games just to find out what they were like and usually I can beat most low level people.
Phil Ivey is considered the most well rounded player in the world because he plays all the games well but he isn't the best NL heads up player. Players who don't specialize won't be as good as some people at certain games. So if you have a particular interest in a certain game you should specialize in it but if you just like playing poker in general just play all the games.
I love the other games and play no limit hold'em more just because that seems to be the only games that are available on a consistent basis.
Hi Cat,
I think you are right about different forms of poker having different skill factors. Although it is not that popular H.O.R.S.E Bracelets and trophies are highly sort after by pro poker players. Because it involves all different forms of poker there is a bigger skill factor to it and the people you play against are normally going to have a greater poker Knowledge. I definitely think people should try all forms of poker as in life the more you try new thing the more open your mind will be.
The trouble is the money & people will always be in NLHE because of the Money Maker affect and it's more widely televised than any other form of poker. I think more people will and are starting to play other forms of poker but they will never be as popular as NLHE.
GL to all on and off the felts!

It would be impossible to do the equivalent of this playing fixed limit or pot limit. The more experienced players would fleece the amateur on every marginal decision.
