WAKE UP, PEOPLE !

Oct 5, 2008 6:53 am Report Abuse

I am just almost at a loss for words right now ! There are 2 reasons for this, and they are kinda tied together. I was surprised by recognition I got from The Diamond Club, for writing the blogs that I have, in an effort to help my fellow Railbirds to become more profitable playing poker, and I am totally suprised at the low number of people that have realized we have a golden opportunity here to cash in on a good thing !

This is a very distinct honor, and should give some credence to my suggestions in these blogs being noteworthy, I would think ! Now I don't want to sound pretentious, but but damn-it people WAKE THE "F" UP !

The first blog I published after getting this recognition was : www.railbirds.com/blog/203857/makin-money-heres-how.html . This blog was written after doing several hours of research, and experimenting with the new Double or Nothing Sit-n-Go's available on Poker Stars. In this blog I gave a formula, or strategy, if you will, on how to play these games, and win ! There is NO disputing the fact that this strategy works, read the testimonials in the comments of the blog ! 20 or so people have commented that after reading the blog, they went and tried out the games, and had success, building their bankrolls along the way !

I then published a follow up blog : www.railbirds.com/blog/203950/more-money.html in this blog I gave further in dept analysis of how to play these games, and showed how to profit from $250 to over $300 a week playing these games ! I personally made an extra $88 playing in them today, and know for a fact that this formula can be a real money maker, and also have had many Pm's from others stating that they have had success with it too ! What really surprises me is that at the time of this blog is being written , there are 5 comments on that 2nd blog, and it just surprises the heck out of me, that there isn't 500 comments from people saying that they have won money today, and have enjoyed winning for a change !

I thought this community was a group of people who wanted to play poker and profit, but now I am thinking I might have been somewhat disillusioned ! There are several blogs with no real value with more hits, and comments on them than this second one, and they have nothing in them that can put money in the accounts of fellow Railbirds ! I cannot for the life of me understand why there isn't a wave of blogs flooding the pages here, with people exclaiming how good it feels to win at poker, and see their bankrolls growing for a change !

DISCLAIMER: This blog is in no way meant to take away from the fact that Railbirds.com is a social gathering place, as well as a poker forum. I enjoy, and contribute, to the social aspects of this site as well, my intentions by writing this are simply to open the eyes of as many Railbirds as I can to the potential for making some easy money, and a way to build confidence, by winning said money !

JAG1024 Oct 5, 2008 7:03 am

TC, your blogs are worth their weight in gold! One thing they have taught me to do is ~ THINK! They have really helped me to better my game even though I still struggle to make it into the money...

Please hun, do not stop writing your blogs! They keep me in line and help me to realize where I am going wrong and what I can do to improve!

Dammit man I'm awake, now what do you want to tell me?

Honestly I haven't seen your other blogs, unusual actually, but been really busy with other things. So now that you have woken me up, I'll go check them out.

Gotta tell you though TC I like tripled my bankroll on Stars the las Bounty tournament we had, so I may finally be on my way! lmao

SOSOBRA Oct 5, 2008 7:04 am

P.S. Bodog (cringe) has the same format... they call them begginers tournaments, although anyone can play... built my BR up quite nicely there, now just waiting for the check to clear.... thanks for caring tho...

Just because someone doesn't comment on the informative blogs you post, does not mean they don't want to profit from your information. Besides, if your blogs help just one person, wouldn't that be better than not helping anyone at all?

To me, Railbirds is not only about poker, but it's about having friends, family, and being part of a community. Yes, I'm sure there are plenty of people that are here just for the social aspect and ya know what? THAT'S THEIR RIGHT AND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. Whether you like it or not, that's your choice.....but it's hardly fair for you to be rude by saying "wake the fk up". I would have expected more from a prorail and I'm actually disappointed by this.

HHTB Oct 5, 2008 7:17 am

I seen them but they put me to sleep. muhahahahaah i hit head on key board 5 times trying to read this blog.

i think moral of the story is same take time to learn take time watching the game and thinking things out before doing things.

sad thing is topcat is many want easy money 2 games wow they feel it should be easier then that.

heck read long blogs read books piff it is easier to cry about bad beats and such. Make money by earning it and taking advantage of good things good god what are you thinking trying to get folks to do that.

I will say thank you for those who choose not to try something when it is hits them in the face with small br

topcat1954 Oct 5, 2008 7:18 am

Mami, this place is all things good for everyone here, an I am the first one to say it is about more than poker, however when a gold mine is found, and a path to it is cut, it blows my mind that the masses don't want to get some of that gold ! THAT DISSAPOINTS ME !........ IF YOU THINK IT IS RUDE OF ME TO TRY TO GET THE ATTENTION OF THE MASSES HERE, AND SHOW THEM HOW TO PUT MONEY IN THEIR ACCOUNTS, THEN SO BE IT !

I prolly put these on the wrong blog huh?
tiltaholic Oct 5, 2008 7:20 am

To be honest, I don't play poker just to 'make money'. I prefer the challenge of competition first and foremost. I do like to make money though.. don't get me wrong. It's just that I'd much prefer to play a decent buy-in mtt then play the double or nothing sngs. For those who's main objective is to increase their online bankroll... great! Mine is doing just fine, with an mtt ROI of close to +250%.

Your suggestions look great and should be of good use to those who are interested. People won't learn if they're not interested though. Just check out how the majority play sngs,...I'd say maybe 10% even have a clue as to what those games are all about (75% playing way too many hands for example). You can lead them to water but you can't make them drink.

SommerSoleil Oct 5, 2008 7:21 am
Hey Topcat read your first blog but must have missed the 2nd one (probably cause i was playing a Double or Nothing Tourny ). I greatly appreciate the research you put into this. As of right now I have played 8 tourneys and won 7 of them!!!! The strategy you gave is right on. I only lost the 1 because I did not follow this strategy. Thank you so much. My bankroll is growing by the hour!!!
Markie141 Oct 5, 2008 7:24 am

I'm wide awake Topcat lmaoo ,

just got back online a while ago , and I've been busy playing the million dollar man thing , haven't seen the other blog you did yet but I'll go take a look now , then I'm heading back for more of those sit n gos lmaoo

I agree it's nice to get a little feedback from people , lots of people look at blogs but most don't take the time to comment !

topcat1954 Oct 5, 2008 7:32 am

You are so right Markie141, usually it averages 10% of people who read a blog will comment on them, and actually the number of comments my blogs get really doesn't matter to me. What is most important is that the information contained is used, when people win, and make money, they usually get excited and want to share the news ! That is what I am after, seeing people say they are winning money, and having fun doing it ! Where it shows up is irrevelent, as long as it is being done!

kansasgirl2 Oct 5, 2008 7:33 am
well TC I'll tell ya how it is for me...............I've READ ,PRINTED & FILED every blog you have written and as hard as I try to play poker I cannot win at it..........but I will keep trying!.........as for the social club responce .....yes I"m GUILTY for writing blogs about non-poker stuff..!.....in this day & age when we all are trying to play & losing most of the time to idiots pull'n it outta their rears the reason for my "social blogs" is to bring a few laughs to ppl who are feeling a 'lil down & their confidence is 'nil to none as mine is.....................so you don't get as many hits on your blogs as you would like.( we can't all be lucky enuff to win once in a while like you good players do )......I'm sorry about that but hey.....some of mine posted alotta times get NO hits............but for you...a prorail.....whom we all hold the highest respect for..... comes out and says "WAKE THE "F" UP< PEOPLE !" is beyond belief & I personally consider it a slap in the face .........I'm sorry your upset.!...sorry you feel this way ! & guess I'm sorry I ever joined RB's ...........and as you always say David......Play On .......thanks for the wake up call................Pix
Erisees Oct 5, 2008 7:34 am
Just started playing the double ot nothing on ps thanks for the info
MetallicaMami Oct 5, 2008 7:35 am
TC, as a prorail, you should set an example for others for how they should conduct themselves. I was simply stating an opinion, didn't mean to "ruffle your feathers".
