One of my cats, Kiki (15 yrs old), we noticed about 2 weeks ago that he wasn't eating much, his face was swollen and an eye was watering. Knowing animals like we do, (5 cats and a dog) my roommate and I, figured there was a problem with a tooth. So we took him to our Vet and found out that he had a broken tooth at the root and needed surgery!
He seemed to come thru surgery okay but never really got his appetite back. We tried everything, different dry foods and wet foods. He would eat some but not much. He was losing a lot of weight and very lethargic.
Then last night he started having really bad breathing problems. We decided to take him to the Vet today, made the decision that if nothing could be done, then we would put him out of his misery! I stayed up all night with him, he was in respiratory distress, told him my goodbyes.
And today he went to the Rainbow Bridge ~~~
RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of Heaven, is a place called, "Rainbow Bridge". When an animal dies, that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to "Rainbow Bridge". There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run wild and play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine so our friends are warm and comfortable.
Any of the animals who were ill and old, are restored to health and vigor....and those who were hurt or maimed, are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our hearts and dreams of days gone by. The animals are happy and content, with the exception of one small thing, they each miss someone very special to them, someone who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day finally comes when one suddenly stops...and looks off into the distance. Their bright eyes are intent, their eager body begins to quiver with joy, suddenly, they run from the group, flying over the green grass, their legs carrying them faster and faster!
You have been spotted!
and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous union, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face. Once again your hands caress their beloved head, as you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart!
Then cross the "Rainbow Bridge" together.....

My brother recently lost his beloved Rasta, a cat he'd had for 18 years. I don't know if he's seen that Rainbow Bridge before, but I'm sending it to him.

sorry for ur loss becky!~
So sorry for your loss..Our pets have a very special place in our hearts and it is hard to lose them...Peace
Unlike other pets, cats are very unique. We do not choose to 'own' a cat. If we are fortunate, a cat will adopt US.
Becky, I am very sorry for your loss. I know it's painful but time will heal this would and leave you fond memories of your time with Kiki.
And THANK YOU for Rainbow Bridge. It has brightened my day.
