I'm done

Oct 2, 2008 5:49 pm Report Abuse

That's it for me. Tired of the beats. Tired of getting sucked out on. Tired of going on tilt.

I can't possibly be this bad, or can I. It doesn't matter. I've had it. I refuse to watch another hand lose to runner runner whatever.

Good luck everyone....I'm out.

things will turn around! keep your head up, and remember...

Try to decide how good your hand is at a given moment. Nothing else matters. Nothing!

Take some time out, but then come back. Don't let the donkeys get you down.

Hi. I don't know you. But I have felt like that. Poker, for awhile, became a drag for me. I felt like I was not improving, and I was tired of losing to the stupid plays and the bad beats, to my own mistakes. Even when I won something, it didn't help--- the losses were just waiting, and they hit me harder than they should have. Emotionally. So I quit. A handful of games for a year. Stopped thinking about poker. Just put it on a shelf. (Fortunately, I'm not a pro, nor ever will be.)

Then one day, I tried a game again, and I was interested again. And it was fun again. And I was doing better, for whatever reason. And, for now, the stupid stuff about poker just doesn't phase me. If it freaks me out again, I will stop again. ::shrug::

Maybe you just need a break. It's like going on tilt-- you need to get up from the table sometimes and do something else. So do it. Take the break.

Maybe... here's a thought... take up something like meditation, or therapy, or maybe exercise, something that helps you learn to deal with anger. Since this feeling about bad beats and runs of cards, is all about anger and fear. That's what " tilt quot; is, at bottom. Maybe, if you develop ways of dealing with situations that feel uncomfortable (it's uncomfortable to lose a hand, lose a tourney, to go broke? yuppers!), you will at some point feel able to come back to the tables, and able to deal with poker stresses better. And you will enjoy it again.

Good luck!

Stop being frustrated and use the passion to improve. Poker is easily beatable if you play it right and everyone is capable of that.

Would you stop making love because you got cheated on? Think about what you are saying...............take a break if you need it, but don't let a donky chase you out of the game you love

All been there mate, try a change of site for a few days, worked for me

Spent a few hours downloading the PKR software, had a real laugh with it for a week or so & then went to Pooperstars and won some there, finally back to FT & found doing ok in the small SNG's, still stink with MTT with fellow birds though.
