What would you do......

Oct 1, 2008 11:31 pm Report Abuse

1/2 No Limit

You have $147 in the cutoff with Railbirds card: 8hRailbirds card: 9h

6 players limp and then the big blind raises to $7.

4 of 6 call $39 in the pot.

Flop: Railbirds card: TcRailbirds card: JsRailbirds card: 6h

Three players check to me and I semi bluff bet $12.

Button raises to $30.

SB: Goes all in for $80

BB: Goes all in for $178

Next Player Folds

I am on a decision but button verbally tells me he is pushing and has $150 in his stack so the pot will be: $489 of which I will be playing for about $430. I have to commit my remaining $130 to call. I am opened ended with 8 outs x 4% chance of hitting my outs with two cards to come = 32%.

I call because it is roughly 30% pot odds with 32% to win.

Unfortunately, I missed and busted out. The winner had a set of tens.

Would you have made this call......

P.S. I was playing with money I had won in a cash game the night before

No, I wouldn't have called ! Even with similar pot odds, and odds of probability, I wouldn't commit my stack on a straight draw alone, if there was a 4 to a flush draw with it, I would consider it, but even then, I would have probably folded. If I am going to risk my stack, then I want a made hand to risk it with 99% of the time, and I much prefer betting it, to calling it off !
