Congrats if you're managing to slowly build bankroll on 10c 360plyr.sngs on Stars

Oct 1, 2008 8:30 pm Report Abuse

Hi,

I've checked out some of the 10cent 360plyr. sngs on Stars and have read blogs on here, written by members who've managed to build their freeroll pennies into a few dollars and then build up some more from there.

I'm just wondering,.. 'how the heck do you do it'??? I've watched, coached, witnessed and even played a few hands myself,... seems near impossible. Just played a moment ago for my g/f, as she stepped out for a few mins. It's early in the game, I wake up with JJ in mid., two limpers in ahead of me, I bump it up to 6xbb, hoping to be facing off against one caller, possibly on overs. sb calls, both limpers call?? I've got pos. on them, flop comes T-6-2 rainbow, sb min bets, both limpers call. Knowing that there are many donks on there, I ponder over what to bet...... hmm... okay, so they didn't respect a 6xbb raise, I'm looking pretty damn good right now I'd say unless one of them is crazy enough to be playing a big pr. in a very strange manner (also quite possible on there,.. who knows??.. they don't seem to....). I SHOVE ALLIN,... sb calls.... I'm worried now... a possible set??.. but to call 6xbb preflop it'd have to be T-T I'd think... or maybe smoothcall with big pr. preflp??.. but why potentially price in the other limpers.... unless he's real bad. Wouldn't he want to isolate my raise possibly?

His cards come over, T-8o. I'm thining 'Great... how could he call me with that, lol'.... turn card, an Eight of course,... he's a 5:1 dog on the flop but calls off his entire stack anyways. What a retarded call.

Other plays I've seen on those are just as bad and often way worse. Tough for a player who has some decent grounding in the game to actually make money on those I would think. Maybe best to just sit out for the first 15mins.?? They seem to be far worse than freerolls. Kinda unfortunate that the play is so poor but then again I find the play on Pokerstars to be generally very poor on any games $5 & under. Doyles 10cent sngs are better than $3 sngs on Stars without question. I'd recommend Doyles to any who are doing the build a bankroll from nothing thing. It's the one site I use to mess around on (play poker but on the cheap) and have built up to over $200 from zero there. Pokerstars for me is generally a losing proposition, needing to play in buy-ins $10+ but probably better at $25+, just don't have the bankroll on Stars to support it (maybe this is a good thing, lol,... +ROI in $10 & up there, but really have never found any games on there that I particularly like the play in,... was searching for quite awhile 6mos. ago but then gave up, keeping it open primarily for priv. tourneys, but rarely play them there now either (not as many as there used to be).

It is an unreal donkfest, Yes, even worse than a Freeroll. I played them for a while until I got so used to the unreal play I had to quit. You can truly make a bit if you just sitout tho and not play a hand. Fold everything and finish in top 36 for itm. LOL!!!

i generally dont play the sng's i play the .10 cent tournies. They might have like 3500 people in them, but every single time i have played I have hit the money and every time that has been about 45 into the tourny. So if you can just play a little bit on the conservative side you'll hit the money and win yourself a lovely 17 cents, If I am short stacked in one of these things, I will not go all in with something average because i only have five blinds left, If I dont have a great hand to go all in with I won't. Every five minutes your in one of these things you make more money.

I have tried my share of them. Mainly just as a time passer but I really dont think I will play any more. They are absolutely a lottery. No question about it!

'but every single time i have played I have hit the money ' ... I just got to say "Wow... very cool". When I read this I was thinking, "Really?... every single time?"... and then curiousity got the better of me so I just had to look you up, lol. Sure enough,... 'every single time'! 3 for 3.. .wtg!! I thought I'd found my niche online but maybe mine was just 'fortunate' for a short while, lol.

GL all !!!!

my best finish on one of the 10 cent 260 man sngs was 6th place. its really not to hard just play tight steal a few blinds and be patient and you will make it to the money and beyond!

it takes some luck...yet if you chip up early,,,,taking out short stacks later ....
you can shift gears and fall into your regular style.......getting past the first hour is the trick..........it's good for a gamble and started me on my way to a bigger bankroll
to play in the less donkalishous tournies
good luck and good gaming

I played that tournament twice. I got first in the 10 cent 360 person hold em tourney the first time on there for 8$, basically i waited for big hands, and they held as dumbasses with 10 8 called me and missed. So I tried it again the next day and had aces cracked by JQ early :/.

I've played it a 3-4 of times and play super tight. No bluffing early (as every donk will call) and hope you can get some cards. If you hit the nuts you will get paid. Finished 2nd once and cashed $ 6.00.
