Shortest sit n go heads up tourney

Sep 30, 2008 8:28 pm Report Abuse

I was playing heads up sit n go tourney at pokerstars. With buy-in $2+0.20. This was the shortest game i ever played, i only played three hands in this tourney.

Hand #1. I was sitting in BB holding Railbirds card: ThRailbirds card: 9h . My opponent raises 2xBB. Blinds were 10-20. Flop comes Railbirds card: 3dRailbirds card: JcRailbirds card: 7s . In this spot i think he might miss the flop there is only one over card, i should raise to test his hand.
And i raised half the pot and he folded. I did anything right or wrong ?

Hand #2. I don't remember what i got, i folded this hand.

Hand #3. I was sitting in BB holding Railbirds card: 9cRailbirds card: 9h . I raised 3xBB and my opponent calls. Flop comes Railbirds card: 7cRailbirds card: 7hRailbirds card: Ts . Opponent checks and i raised half the pot, opponent re-raises and pushed all-in and my calls, opponent shows Railbirds card: 9dRailbirds card: 8h . Turn comes Railbirds card: 3d River is Railbirds card: Ah . On the flop i was might be re-raising with straight draw because i think these kind of player(who plays $2 buy-in games) likes to re-raising with straight draw. Question is did anything wrong ?

The first hand was well played, i think the bet you made after the flop was a good amount to test him, second was obviously fine unless you had AA or summin and then the final hand was maybe a bit to aggressive but like you said, you thought it through and had justified it so ye all in all i'd say you played well, nice win wtg

I don't think you did anything wrong. You won the hands, and that is what you want to do. You had the best hand. Good Job!!

On a side note, I played in one of those heads up tourneys once and it was all over on the first hand. The guy went all in pre flop with AK suited, and I had AA. Luckily, the pocket rockets held up! Shortest tourney ever. Easy money!!

1) No, you played it pretty decently.

3) Actually, it's heads up, so mid pair on that board looks pretty good... I wouldn't say you played perfectly, but you won, and in tournament poker, the ends justify the means.

uh... the first hand is alright but he careful of betting out of position... many people will call light with ace highs in this spot... I generally don't like to get heavily involved when im not on the button.

the second hand the only thing you can beat is 89... although usually check raises mean a draw in low level games but in higher ones it can just as often be the 10 or 7 for that matter... your opponent shouldn't even be calling with 89os preflop
