then....unreg from the seat you won to get the tournament dollars
You can redeem tournament dollars for cash but they take a percentage off the top. I wouldn't bother doing that, I'd simply start spending the tourney dollars for my future buy-ins instead of my cash account.
I've never won a token, so I don't know about its redeemability but I'd think that if they wanted the prize to be redeemable they'd just give you tournament dollars instead. So if you manage to win a token, go use it for its intended purpose. If you don't want to bother with tokens, then don't enter tournaments that offer tokens as prizes.
Poker Stars does the same thing with most of their freerolls. Typically the first-round prize is just a "ticket" to another tournament. Some times you choose which second-round event you go to (astronomer series, Daily 80 Grand, etc.), sometimes it's use-it-or-lose-it for a specific event. The only PS freerolls I've entered that had a cash prize for the first round have been the "Summer Games" events, which pay out $5 for the top 250 first-round places. I've hit 3 times so far and it's the easiest $5 I've ever made playing poker.
