Friends and Poker

Sep 29, 2008 9:35 pm Report Abuse

Just wondering how fellow RBs think on playing friends at poker table. My way of thinking is you have to play to win. Sure be nice and wish best, but you play to win. I might give back cash at a later time, but feel that if you are at the table you are there to win. Had a friend join table other night and lost all his cash. I transfered him some more but had to take most of it back at table or he was going to loose it to others. So what are your thoughts ?

I play with bud's every week but we limit the amount we can play with that way no one gets to mad when they lose.

Friendship is fine between hands. I am sure there are people we would all rater bust out before someone we know. However, a pot is a pot and I will take it from a friend as fast as I would a stranger

Well I like playing poker with friends. The only catch is its never online. I enjoy playin with them face to face. The thing is a pot is a pot. When you are at a table there are no friends during play. I am here to take your money, his money, and her money. Play to win.

I agree with play to win. I would hope my friends feel the same way!

I would have to agree, it wouldn't matter to me if it was a friend or a stranger involved in on the pot/ hand I would try to take the pot from them just like they would to me. I wouldn't expect any less then that, otherwise it is not worth playing.

I play in a weekly live trny game that I am now in charge of setting up and running of a group about between 20-35 players. Most of us have played together for about 6-7 months now so yeah we know each-other rather well. Which it is no different there, you want the chips your gonna have to take them from somebody cause if you don't somebody else is gonna take them from you.
