That was actually the second time I have heard of that happening on day 1 of the WSOP. If I am not mistaken Sully Erna of Godsmack fame was put out on that same beat two years ago.

he could not have lost to a Royal Flush because he had the Ace

so he lost to a Str8 Flush k

Actually his opponent made a Ace high straight flush (Royal) with one of the two aces on the board.

was in a live tourney 2 years ago..... final table and i was the big stack,,,,,,,,,,
raised pre flop with Railbirds card: KhRailbirds card: Kc: had four callers every one but the small blind,,,,
flop came Railbirds card: AsRailbirds card: Ad:Railbirds card: Ks the BB checked it and three of the short stacks went all in
turn came Railbirds card: Kd rest of the feild went all in leaving me on the button to call,,
river came the case Railbirds card: Ah
there were two people on the royal draw
the second in chip guy had the forth ace and mopped up,,,,leaving a three way tourney,,,,,,,,,,i went out on the next hand for third
and was amazed that the two royal draw guys met me at the rail to complain that niether could hit the royal
the odds are so great to hit the royal,,,how can you be angry if you miss
good gaming and good luck

happened over two years ago and still can remember every detail of the hand

iv lost with a straight flush to a royal flush before.... ended up losing like 60$ in that hand.. the worst thing is theres no doubt in your mind that the str8 flush is good so when he rebets into u ur hoping to go u can get all ur chips in :*(... guess itll happen tho right

I think the people most impacted by the Royal Flush vs 4-of-a-kind Aces hand are the friends of the guy who took the beating.

Can you imagine how many times they are going to hear that story at their home game ?
