Jupiters Casino Waste of Space

Sep 27, 2008 1:31 am Report Abuse

Hey guys

I decided to head down to my Local Casino last night and try my luck at some $1/2 NL
Its a table though only open up when they have enough people to play
After sitting there around for 30 mins they open up the table

There was a couple sitting at end rebuying it for $200 fairly often and they dropped nearly $1k fairly quickly
Anyways I didnt get the charity of these 2 Donkeys so my stack was fairly consistent and stayed around my buy in

Well this hand came up

4 players into a small raise preflop pot
UTG Bets and we get 3 callers
On the turn the original Better bets again
I call
Everyone else folds
The original Better doesnt realise I ahve called thinks he has won the pot and throws his cards face down towards the dealer nearly onto the Muck
The dealer looks and says sorry you have a caller and pushes his cards back to him
I advise her its a fold
She said she made the decision that he made a mistake but he can continue playing
I am more then alittle annoyed and I lose the pot on the river
I continue on asking when does it become a fold saying as soon as you throw your cards away thats it
Doesnt matter why
Anyways we argue and I get this shits and shove next hand my last $30 and get called by KK
Over all the Pit Bosses have a meeting and decide I didnt make a complaint at the right time and its my fault I lose the pot
I complain saying its a black and white rule written on the wall
As this is happening the dealer again calls a Pit Boss over to clarify some simple rules
I complain again asking why would you have dealers who dont understand the game

At the end of it I am found to be in wrong though I cant see why
Its all on camera
Stuff em though I wont be heading back

Over all it costs me around $80 thought its not the money side I am worried about its more the dealer and the Player make a mistake but I am the one who loses

He still gets the pot and the casino still gets the rake

so you should have called the pitboss over immediadeltly and it is your fault for allowing the hand to continue,

I said it at the time
She said play continues and his cards never touch the muck
I complain still Hand continues
At the end of the end the Pit Boss comes over I ask him for the rule and he says nope dealer mistake Hand was folded
Even though I pointed it out then and there they say nothing can be done

If the mistake is only the players and the dealer is all good I would agree with you
If the dealer makes the mistake though they should fix it up

Any other game in the Casino where the dealer stuffs up is fixed up as soon as they are notified

Freaky and Jonty this is from a Casino dealer himself as i now deal poker as well , thouhgt i would mention that jonty but freaky is dead right if he throws it it's over the rule states that he should pay attention to the game if he doesn't tough

Funny this happened though as i have only been dealing for a week in poker and the same thing kinda happened to me , but the ruling was in favor of the loser on a final board of 4Q5Q5 a guy turns over a 47 and shows the other player , he saids ahh i only had A high turning only one card over and the throws towards my muck but not on them i say to him ( knowing he has won ) you need to cards to win and pick them up and table them my fault he turns to me and tells me he folded and i muck straight away both player are none the wiser when i push the pot to the 47 and just when i thought i was in the clear a person not even in the hand opens his fat mouth , really annoying but it kinda work out in the end cause the player did the nice thing and split it between them.

Anyway long story short you where right to be pissed freaky but as one other comment said you should just stop and never let the hand finish till you get the result that should of happened. But that Jupiters gotta come to Crown mate the home of Poker in Australia i will look after you

The rules state you must show 2 cards to win
So if he mucked his 2nd card he deserves to lose the pot
The 47 had won that hand cos he mucked
My mate is a dealer here at the casino and he was the only reason the Casino management found out cos noone else wanted anything to do with it
I did try and stop the hand when I asked her about it
She told me no and dealt the river
No this is a reason why they wouldnt help me as the hand continued
Though what can I do to actually stop her dealing
Im not going to grab her
My mate actually folded a guys hand when he flipped over the Ace of hearts for nut flush and threw his second card onto the muck
Casino rules stated thats a muck and he lost a huge pot

I cant see what else I can do except grab the dealer
Which isnt going to win me any more Brownie points

The guy who mucked didnt say a thing again when I was around
he knew what he had done and wasnt Man enough to admit his own mistake
