Does Daily poker quiz need a new format?

Sep 21, 2008 11:21 pm Report Abuse

Just wanted to comment on the daily poker quiz.

Many times i don"t feel there is a difinitive correct answer. I'm trying to guess how the author would play the hand.

And since there is a reward for getting it right[entry in drawing to freeroll] it makes even less sense!

I truly appreciate that someone takes the time and effort to organize this quiz and in no way am i trying to fault them but perhaps we need a different format!!

Anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

While I don't always agree with the way that they suggest a hand should be played, it doesn't mean that they answer you chose is the "wrong" way, let's face it if we all played each hand the same that would just be boring and easy to read.

There are certain situations where there is a more optimal choice, but it's not necessarily how you always play a specific hand.

What I take from the quizes is just that... you choose the answer you feel is the best way in that given situation to play it... if it's "wrong" then read what their thinking is and learn from it. It will help improve your game over time since you'll be thinking more about the hands.

i agree with what astrogini said. Sometimes i pick the "wrong" answer, but it really jus depends on the situation. Also, some players are tight, agressive, loose, ect. Everyone has their own playing style. Dont get mad if u pick the wrong answer. Read what they suggest and see if you might agree after what they tell you.

I like the quiz.

Whether I get it right or wrong, I do it as much to read the reasoning behind the correct/incorrect answer.

Well I appreciate the complaint blogs about the daily poker quiz because I tend to forget about it so that makes me remember to do it. Hehehe

Thanks for the adds. I take the quiz every day and enjoy it also. My blog was not meant to be a complaint . I was just questioning whether there should be a correct answer to most of the questions.

I appreciate whoever it is that takes the time to make the quiz and i will continue to participate.

Gini said it all... she is sooooo right about this. There have been many times I don't agree with the answer at all.. even after hearing his reasoning.
