another PW solution!!!!!!

Sep 15, 2008 1:55 am Report Abuse

OK i am sure everyone is tired of reading these blogs and im sure it may have been said before, railbirds is a great site who has alot of profitable and fun tournies and they get ruined by THEIVES sorry ass THEIVES.it takes more time to look for the pw on the stealing site than to join us and get it str8 up. SO heres my solution its not a hard one and it is being done finally by other forums. Make it to where u have to have a min.of 25-50 blog post to get the PW. it is to easy to get it here when i joined i posted a blog and had it within 5 minutes of joining. just too easy, make em' work for it, a true railbird will have those kinda post, and if u dont then ur just here for the money, not friends or family.so keep this bumpin people maybe they will go for it. all comments are welcome.ty for reading gl on the felts and in life. whoooohoooo bigstacks , come get some

I think that would drastically reduce the thieves but not stop it! But anything would be a start! Now can we get em to go for it???
theallinkid989 Sep 15, 2008 2:02 am
that would be unfair since many players dont post blogs but are still active through chat and responding to other players blogs, also would creste mass spamming of blogs when player first join
Mattsback Sep 15, 2008 2:05 am

LOL,didn't know there was a stealing sight ,but i am sure there are code pages out there.

mora19_66 Sep 15, 2008 2:05 am
yes but FOR EXAMPLE(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) if i post 50 or more blogs and comments and i get the pw and i share them with my friends or put it on another forum (hint) then we still have the same......there is also a problem with ''members'' sharing passwords
Annie-up Sep 15, 2008 2:13 am
Not to mention that it makes more work for the prorails to look and see and count every single thing written, for heaven knows how many people,
BigFooter Sep 15, 2008 2:16 am
50 posts lmao I can see the garbage post now
KevGuy Sep 15, 2008 2:17 am

i like this idea because i posted a blog about it yesterday. lol. Go to search blogs and type "stop the theives". Its written by me and the comments i got have good info in them. Theres two pages of comments be sure to look both of them up. Its well thought out to, look it up bro. thanks.

The poker sites currently send railbirds a list of the standings in the tournaments so we can distribute the points. After that list is sent to us we could then send the sites confirmation of the money winners. Only after this is done the money would be deposited into the accounts of those that cashed and not before. Not a railbird then they get no cash, screen name not registered, no cash. Members could still choose to hide their screen names, but still have them registered.

As far as that other site goes that requires 50 posts they still get crashers. The members of that pw thief site still send the pw's for that sites games to other members through pm's and e-mail.

btw, i spelled thieves wrong because i was tired when i was writing the blog. lol. But yeah, tell me what you think about it. Have a good day!

Quite honestly I don't think the owners of Railbirds cares whether or not we have password thieves. As a business they are looking at the final numbers of members, not who wins the money they put up for the games, be it freerolls or guaranteed prizes in the RMR. The Prorails seem to be doing what they can when given info on a member sharing pws, but I would assume that their hands are tied on what they can do. There have been many ideas on ways to stop the thieving or payouts to non-members, but obviously the numbers are what counts and brings the site the money to keep running.

i like bigfooters comment about garbage posts. Then he posts a classic one liner on this blog. What kind of posts does he want? Maybe two paragraphs? lol.
ButtonDog Sep 15, 2008 3:01 am
I just checked and that site that posts our passwords has 6,000 members. The posted password for our tournament has had 77 people view it. Just play smart tonight and don't worry about them until after the tournament.
whoareyou Sep 15, 2008 3:41 am
with blog/post requirements, 25-50 post times the amount of railbirds = higher chance of big loads of useless blogs
KevGuy Sep 15, 2008 5:01 am

In my blog "stop the theives" people were leaving me comments about people posting spam and how that would be a problem. I get spam mail all the time on this site. lol. I dont understand why people use this argument against this type of plan. Do you really want the highest quality blogs and comments?? Since when does blog quality count, especially on this site. LOL, its soooo funny to me.

The only way to end this crap of the password being sold to non-members is with the help of the poker sites. The only way.

The problem is getting the poker sites to help. They consider these scumbag thieves to be clients and are afraid of losing some business if they ban them for stealing or using stolen passwords. They are more concerned about keeping lowlife clients active than they are about looking after the honest clients who contribute far more money.

For the amount of money FTP and PS get from Railbirds.com every week ($3700 between the 2 for each the 1st 2 weeks of Sept) we should expect them to do a better job in protecting honest clients rights to secured tourney's.This doesn't take into consideration all the money they rake in from RB members through their own private tourney's.

We should expect more from these sites regarding this issue. We pay for it.

My question is, Who is going to go thru and count the posts of each person that logs on each day, tabulate them, and crossreference them with the password distribution ? A computer you say, who is going to program it, I ask ? Our tech staff is busy now, trying to find all the things that we need fixed right now, like that little flashing light that is so annoying, and bird colors that don't change all of a sudden, after working fine for a couple of years.

Believe me when I say that we Prorails don't like password thieves any more than any of you, and when a Railbird is conclusivly linked to sharing the password, we are happy to ban them and their IP so they will never be allowed on this site again !

Whatever ideas people have, we want to hear them, but whatever changes that are decided to be made, will have to be workable, and something that the tech staff can put into operation. Making the slightest change is really a pretty big deal, so if and when something is done, it has to be thought through, and it has to be in the best intrest of Railbirds as a whole !

The poker sites we use don't want to make a bunch of changes to the way their system is set up either, for the same reason, you can't just fix it with a couple of mouse clicks, it is a indepth process !

.....Topcat.....

I dont even play in the tournies, but I know it wont stop the stealing.... there are people on this site who ARE very active and they leak the passwords out to people at other sites they belong to, people they have befriended that have been banned from this site, etc. It wont stop, there isnt a logical and easy way to make it stop.

~~peace~~

These pwd theive posts do not solve anything. They never have and they wont in the future. Accept that there will be nonrailbirds in the games. Move on.
jsc88310 Sep 15, 2008 7:32 am
the only way to stop the password sharing would be for the Railbirds management to actually register railbirds for the tournament like they do for the monthly winners. If they did that, there would be 59000 people entered into each tournament. Alternatively, they could register the 2700 most active members, but that would take a lot of work, and some new software. Would you like to be left out because you were 1 blog comment short of being active enough?
