What a terrible day in our history. Those that were lost will always be remembered.

Seeing the faces of the terrorists just pisses me off more and more.
I will never forget that day.
Bless everyone who lost their life that awful day, except those 19 gutless cowards.
Remember to fly the flag tomorrow.
NEVER FORGET.
I was home in bed sleeping in , it's my birthday so I was off
and going to go out & do something fun , I went to let
my dogs out and saw it on the TV , awful horrible day I can't
ever forget that ,
I was at home watching the news (CNN), as I did every morning ...watched it all from start to finish,... it was terrible.... terrible doesnt even begin to describe it. At first I thought it was some kind of sick hoax or something, I just couldn't believe it. Then I saw the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower and I knew it was real.
I havent watched any news programs since then.
a sad day not only for Americans but for people all over the world.
take a few minutes to remember the innocent who died that day and their families who still feel the loss.
may their memories be eternal.
I was at home, I was working swing shifts at the time and it just happened to be my day off. I remember seeing the first plane hit the towers on the news, at that point we all thought it was an accident.
Then the second plane hit, and we knew something was horribly, horribly wrong. I remember going to pick up my kids at school, we brought them home in the middle of the day. On our way back home they made an announcement on our local radio station and said that Offutt Air Force base had closed and that a lot of marines had landed and were securing the runways.
I turned to my wife and said, honey, we just became the nation's capitol. Air Force One is on it's way. She looked at me curiously and asked me if I was certain.. I said I was. It was the only reason they would close offutt and land marines like that to secure the runways. I explained to her that there were really only a couple of places the President would land in a situation like this, not to many places have the kind of communicaitons facilities and security they would need, and odds were good that the VP and most of the cabinet were already on there way to Cheyenne Mountain - so SAQ headquarters was a natural choice for the President.
Sure enough about an hour later they announced that President Bush had landed at SAC. I remember watching and listening to the news as the rest of the day unfolded. The tremendous courage of the people of Flight 93 who gave there lives to prevent the terrorists from using that plane as another weapon of mass destruction.
And today I shed yet another tear, one for the courage and conviction of my beloved country. So many have forgotten the events of that day. They are too tired to continue the fight. They want to bury our heads back in the sand and pretend it didn't happen. They want to bring our troops home before the job is finished.
They want to stop spending so much money overseas and start handing it out here at home on idiotic government earmarks building bridges that go nowhere and making sure illegal aliens get better healthcare than I have even though I pay for mine. They don't want to sacrifice, and they forget the sacrifice born by so many families that day and so many of our brave combat troops since.
Yes, I remember 9/11 all to well, more is the pity that so many seem to have forgotten.
I was living in Vancouver BC and had just gotten up. I switched on the local news and the first tower was smoking as they told of the plane hitting it. My first thought was that an inexperienced pilot in a small plane had made a deadly mistake,.. then the second plane hit,.. shock!, I just stared for a long time, too stunned to move, I can still see that scene in my mind(I have had to stop typing twice now to compose myself),..
Later, a few days,.. other stories started to come out, our Premier's son had tickets to go to the towers that day for a tour. He was out drinking the night before and slept in, missing his tour. Others missed work that day too, curious how some were saved, apparently more people missed going to work in the towers that day then any other. Angels, God/desses? who knows?
I made it to Ground Zero in 2004, as I walked along the street to the first viewing hole, I could feel the anguish and fear that still lingers in the air. It was all I could do to say a quick prayer and stumble across the street and up to the deli just around the corner to get out of that energy. More tears then I have ever shed came pouring out of me that day. In this life, I will never forget.
I had dropped my kid's off at school that morning and came home to watch some tv.It wasn't until the second plane struck that I was fully aware of what was actually happening.I ran to the school to get my kid's,they had everyone in the cafeteria. The kid's ,being that it was elementary school ,didn't understand what was happening but the look on all of the adults faces was the same.....confusion,panic and fear.I just wanted my kid's home with me.I don't think anyone will ever forget where they were and what they were doing that day.
I was at work...I remember running to a conference room and seeing the attack. A few weeks later my wife ran in the Marine Corp Marathon in D.C. Our plane flew right up the coast...you could still see the dust cloud eminating from the site. May we never forget!
