ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 MY LIFE CHANGED....Part of my life was stolen from me, Thousands of my American brothers and sisters were taken from me, and part of my belief about terrorists was changed forever.
This is intended to honor all of the people who have lost their lives because of terrorists:
All the people killed on 9/11 in the Towers, Pentagon, the Planes, the brave Fire and Police depts....
Always Remember / Never Forget......
In honor of all the lost souls, please add your comment about your memories. I plan on delivering a copy of this blog and all the comments.... to the FLIGHT 93 MEMORIAL on 9/11 or as close to it as I can get up there. If you left a comment on a previous bump, don't fret...I have those comments printed/copied already.
MY EXPERIENCE WILL LIVE ETCHED IN MY MIND FOREVER: It was a normal September morning....I was doing my usual golf- caddy job with a 4-some of corporate guys that were in from across the country....
One golfer's son worked for CNN and the one guy's wife worked for United Airline's Corporate Headquarters. We got the first phone call while we were on our fifth hole, after the first tower was hit. We had 100 phone calls within the first 60 minutes.
We knew they closed all the airports by the time we got to the 7th tee........and then we saw it: UAL Flight 93 came over our golf course in PA.....it crashed approximately 20 miles from us. We didn't hear the impact as it was on the other side of a 2700 ft high Ridge Line in our local mountains.
We didn't know it was Flight 93 until we got the call minutes later from our CNN guy....then we all had a terrible awareness that we saw the plane in its final one minute or so of its flight before it crashed..it was flying low and was in a left bank so you could see both wings.....oddly...and the tail was teetering as if something was wrong...but it didn't make total sense until we heard of the crash.
The FBI came days later to interview some of us to get some perspective from our vantage.
God Bless All Who Have Lost Their Lives due to terrorists and Fighting Terror!!!
Over 3,000 lives lost that day and thousands since....GOD BLESS THE USA, all people abd countries who stand for a free world,
AND THE CONTINUED FIGHT TO FREE THE WORLD OF ALL TERRORISTS.

The Golf Club where I worked....flags at half mast for the next 2 weeks......we had the PGA Tour event that started that next weekend at our club.called the PA Marconi Open.. at Laurel Valley. They cancelled the Ryder Cup Matches so we were the first televised major sporting event to air after 9/11. They put 1,000 flags throughout the golf course in honor of all who lost their lives.

I HOPE WE NEVER FORGET-------------WE HAVE TO FIGHT TERRORISM EVERYWHERE....................GOD BLESS AMERICA
I was at work with the radio on, once I heard it I turned the tv on and saw the 2nd plane crash into the tower. Then rushed to the phone to call my aunt to see if my cousin had gone into work that day, she worked at Morgan Stanley which lost all of their NY employees. Luckily for her, she had not. I will never forget that day, still brings tears to my eyes.
I was in Louisville working and as I walked into a doctors office to meet with the administrator, I looked up at the tv in the corner that was on CNN and thought:
Oh my God, some poor foreign city is being bombed. Then, as I looked closer, I saw it was the twin towers and I sank into a chair feeling shock, nausea, disbelief, and a myriad of emotions that were beyond my own comprehension. But disbelief was by far the most prominent. The rest of that day, my coworkers and I were lost in a fog of it.
I will NEVER forget how I felt that day and I hope none of you will either.
GOD BLESS THE USA!!!
Since it's 9/11 on the East Coast, I'm bumping this. The pictures and the story deserve to be seen by those who missed it this morning.
Never forget, don't ever forget what you felt that day.
