The anniversary is coming up... and i feel like we need to talk about it together as americans. i love hearing different peoples stories on what they were doing that day when they found out if they watched it on the news or whatever... its just one day just like every other one but we remember it and everything we did that day. I think its special that we can share our similar but different experiences.

I can remember almost exact conversations i had with people that day. I was a freshmen at a catholic highschool and we had whole school prayer over the intercom every day after the first class. Well during this days prayer they mentioned that a plane had hit the world trade center in nyc. Well, being young i had no idea what it was so i just went on to the next class. I was in french class and our teacher was foreign so she tried to follow the rules exaclty so she refused to put the tv on... Well i could hear other classes talking loudly about it and could tell their tvs were on...but eventually another teacher came in and told her we need to see it. we watched the 2nd tower get hit and both towers fall.... i remember we did prayed the rosary over the intercom.. everyone was just shocked and it was just the beginning...

Whats your story?? How did you feel to live in this country after that??
non-americans... id like to hear your storiest too!!

It was an emotional day for sure. I had just came back from the hospital where my nephew was born under and emergency c-section. Both mother and baby were in danger so I was stressed out to begin with then I didnt even turn on anything just grabbed my stuff and off to work I went. I found out there what was happening. I worked for a cell phone company at the time and all the phones were busy because no one could get thru to anyone. It was a really emotional day for me.

I was in middle school,8th grade, and i was sitting in 3rd period science class, and just b4 the principal announced it on the intercom, one of the student teachers who was in the class got a call from sum1 moments b4 we were told over the intercom so i am guessin that is what she was being told also over the phone....i dont really remember what went on during the rest of the school day,and no1 in the school,as far as students went, had seen any of the destruction yet....when i went home i remember taking in the groceries from my moms car first then going in to our den and seeing the replays of what had occured that day.....at the time while watching it i realized that it was a tragedy unlike anything i have ever witnessed, but i dont think i really understood the magnitude of the event.......i know this may not belong in this blog, but i honestly believe that our government was responisble and part of the planning of these attacks, the evidence too proof such an insinuation is very credible....there are many theories on what happend that day and why the government wud do such a thing, but if u look back in history, and look at bills and laws the U.S. had employed years, even decades prior to this attack,it seems pretty reasonable to believe that this act of hurrendous terror was not just acted upon by one man who lives in a cave and his 19 employees of terrorism....

i was on my way to an appt. and listening to my fav. morning show on the radio. it was a beautiful day in grand rapids, mi. Somewhere close to where i was driving there was an emergency and i heard sirens... close. anyways i am looking all over for the lights so i am not in the way and the DJ came on the radio stating what had hust happened, to the 1st tower... i was horrified. turns out there was a fire a few blocks from where i was but i only hear outta 1 ear so i can never tell where sirens are coming from until i see the car.
When i was leaving m appt. the 2nd tower had already been hit and everyone was gathered around the tv. It was a scary day. I pesonally knew no victims of the towers or the planes, but america as a whole began a victim that day.

I was a Corrections Officer in Kansas, and I was on duty in a control booth for a cell house while segregation inmates had yard time and needed to be escorted to holding pens outside. Bob and Tom played on the radio. Everyday funny business came to an awakening reality check as it shifted to coverage of that days unforeseen horror. A fellow officer temporarily relieved me so I could witness it for myself through an inmates TV spewing those images through the reinforced cell door window I peered in. We need to get back to united we stand as in those days that followed. We will never forget. Pearl Harbor, The Alamo, and 911.

Well 911 is actually my birthday so I was off that day and I woke up late and went to go let my dogs out and it was on the TV in the living room , it was a pretty stunning way to wake up , I still hate thinking about that day and those cowards ,gl

That was the morning of my 40th birthday. My wife had taken off that day to spend it with me. We had both gotten up early because my son had to go to school. We were drinking coffee and watching the news together when the first plane hit. I remember thinking at first that it had to be some kind of terrible accident. I didn't know whether to go ahead and walk my son to school, or keep him home where it was safe. In the 10 minutes I was gone, the second plane hit. I walked through the door, and my wife had just seen it happen on TV. We knew it was no accident then, but felt so hopeless. We just watched as both buildings unbelievably just collapsed. I wanted to go back up, and pick up my son from school, but I didn't. Then the other planes started making the news. The one in Penn. and the Pentagon. It felt like the world was ending at the time. I think the whole country was in a state of shock. I know we were. It's hard to believe it was 7 years ago. I think at first it really brought this country closer together, but over the years that has decayed a bit as people have got on with their lives. I for one will never forget all the innocent and brave people that died that day. I'll be 47 on the 11th, so it's easy for me to keep track of the years as they pass. This, and the Oklahoma City bombing, are the saddest two days in my life that I can think of. I also wrote a song about them both.
GOD Bless America !!!!!

Please remember to fly the American Flag that day... if you can.......................... to honor all the innocent lives that were lost, we should never forget.............. Just at home and watched the whole thing go down, soo very sad.....

For KrisKringles.

I used to get wrapped up in all those conspiracy theories too, I have seen almost every video and read almost every article on 9/11. I honestly believe there is no conspiracy. There are several sites that debunk every single aspect of that day. All of the conspiracy theories are filled w/ glued together pieces of information, filled w/ holes and misplaced logic.

i can remind exactly on that they because i bought new shoes and came home, turned the tv on to see on the teletext the newest odds for footballgames as i heard in the background the CNN Anchorman that there is allegedly an aircraft crushing into the WTC. i turned off the teletext to see the pictures and i thought "thats simply impossible..that 5 american aeroplanes crush into american buildings..." i really thought this would be a silly joke from CNN til the austrian broadcasting company ORF brought those messages too. and ...it was one of the most sadest moments ever for me as i saw the people jumping out from the 50th floor in the sure dead and noone rescued them with chopters or analoggy...this day changed my view about america completely ...

lets pray that such never happens again

I am brought to tears as I remeber that day. I was shocked as I watched it all. Not compreheding the hate you must carry to do that to another human being. We have forgotten and gone on. A vague thought in the back of many of our minds until we are made to remember. God bless all the families who lost their loved ones.

I watched from home I was on the comp. playing and I cried as I saw ppl jumping from the building. My husband was working and I took him a small tv so that he could see all that was happening. I wanted to go to get my kids from school but I did not. I just sat and watched.

I went to the site in feb of 2001 it was so very emotional. I pray none of us ever have to witness anything like this again.

GOD BLESS AMERICA
