2nd place

So, I finished second in a railbird freeroll the other day. The great DL came in first. I really thought I was destined to win that tourney, but the cards had a different plan. Well, last night I went to the league games they play at the dog track, and after going out on the bubble in the first tourney, I had positioned myself to win the second tourney. I was doing well, making all the right moves, and basically dominating the final table. No one wanted to play a hand against me, and some were giving me the name silent assassin. I really didn't like the nickname and all the attention started throwing my game off.

Then came the most devastating downfall to my game. The blinds were extremely high, and one player was all in blind. The small blind(2nd in chips) called her and flipped over AJ suited clubs, and the all in blind player flipped over 5 8 offsuit. The flop comes 7c 6c and then the dealer burns a card and turns over the last card on the flop a 4d. So the all in has hit her straight right? NO, the dealer screwed up and burned the last flop card which was a club giving the other guy the nut flush. Well, even though we all saw the mistake it was decided that all the cards except the hole cards and the first burn card would be reshuffled and the flop would be done over. The all-in ended up with a pair of fives and won. Then she doubled up again, and it was down to us three. By this time my chips were getting low and I get KJ, I push and triple up taking it down to just us two. I get an ace so I push and i finish second again.

I feel like if the dealer hadn't messed up I could have taken it all, but i'll never know. But I really want first now!
