Micro and Low Limit Strategy

Sep 6, 2008 8:03 am Report Abuse

Looking for opinions:

Is it best to limp a lot in micro and low limit sit and go's and MTT's or should you be aggressive and raise pre-flop?

My pre-flop raises seem to garner no respect and I get called by terrible starting hands out of position, so I was just curious as to what my fellow railbirds thought.

I get my nose bloodied everytime i play a hand aggressive (at least early in the game). After an hour or so the game starts to look a bit more like poker and you get a bit respect for a bet.

Personally it works best for me to play a few good hands and try to get to see flops on them cheap, decide if they're good enough to try and get some players out of the hand (only bet the hands you do want to get some action on).. oh and avoid situations where you are up against 4 or more players.. the strangest things happen even to great hands.

This gets me safely through the first part mostly, the drawback is you almost everytime end up slightly below average stack, good enough to make itm regularly, but not enough to make final tables often

that's about as far as my 2 cents go

Poppa if you really want a great low buy in sit n go system send me your e-mail address and I'll send you a copy of the system thewall developed, over 150 members have tried it and all but 3 have turned a profit using it.

i always like to donk off almost all my chips early then stage a miracle comeback
it gives the weaker players a fighting chance

good luck
