Taking time off!!

Hey fellow birdies. Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be taking time off from poker for awhile. As some of you know, my dad has been very ill. Last Saturday, dad suffered another heart attack and they found a tumor in his lung. Tonite his doctor took me aside to tell me that he had days to maybe 2 wks. at most. He's been fighting for his health for the last 16 yrs. but the last 7 we have watched him wither away.

Mom has been the most unbelievable woman that I have ever met. She kept him home with her to take care of him (while being sick herself). Now she's home alone and I'll be spending all my time with her to try to keep her going. She met my dad when she was 16, married him at 17. He was 26. (nice little gap huh..lol) If he makes the next 9 days, they will celebrate 44 yrs. of marriage. He's a father of four, one girl, three boys, Papa to 13 and great grandfather (Papa Bear) to three.

I watch my mom trying to keep face, but you can tell that everything is catching her right now. We knew for along time that he could leave us at anytime but the fighter he is, he held on. Just when you think your prepared, you never are. When reality sets in, boy does it hit hard.

My Dad is my hero and my best friend. I told him tonite that he could go home to be with his parents and brothers and sisters that are no longer with us. He held my hand tightly and said "I LOVE YOU".

If you all could say a prayer for my mom and my three brothers it would be so greatly appreciated!
