RANKINGS-RMR.

Having read Champ1's blog regarding prizes for the RMR it made me think back to what my motives/goal were for playing in the 2008 RMR.

Lets look at some statistical data up till August first.

I have broken the rankings down into four groups as you can see, Top 100,50,25,10. The Ave, Max,Min and mean are for games played by the members in Top 100 up till August.

Now this in itself does not give all but if those that played in the top 100 saw the number of Average games played compared to theirs, it is clear that the more games you play the more chances you have of making points/$. The ave in the T100 is 78, Ave in T50 is 104, Ave in T25 is 123 and the Ave in T10 is 153 so those that play more earn more points$ and the Ave number of games played falls quickly after the T10!!!

So in T10 it is clear that the players are putting in much more effort and TIME to gain the REWARDS!

So you ask yourself WTF has all this to do with my motives??? Well at the beginning of the year I calculated that the Average number of games per month I could play was round 16+-1(total approx 128, although I missed the whole of April!!), which as you can see is well below the average to date in T10, it was clear to me that baring a poker God intervention I had very little chance of keeping up with those that played the Average 153 games (these figures I am quoting from this years). My assumpions were based on the number of tournys in Jan schedule.

My motives/goal at that time have changed very little, I aimed to get into the Top 20, I have fared a little better! And am now inclined to think that I might try for the top 10!!! I never believed that I could win this RMR but I was determined to stay with the guys at the Top.

Another of my aims was to play with better players and improve my game, this I think I have done, both in the RMR and here on RB, as some really good players do not play in the RMR and I find some tough RB players playing elsewhere.

If I was not such a softy I think that my winnings would have sustained my efforts but alas they have not, but that aside I think the reward for me has been what I set out to achieve and although I fully understand the reasons for those at the top to know WTF they are fighting for.......

I will be satisfied at the end of the year if I make the Top 20 and over the moon if I make the Top 10!!!!

Maybe next year I will adjust my thinking, that is if there is a next year RMR????
