my service provider sucks,... and I live in the boonies sooooooo I dont have any other options except dial-up. It doesnt happen often, but this just sucked,... the timing,... the cards,... gad.

I to live in the boonies and until just a couple of months ago dial up was my only option. They added DSL then and I jumped on it.

One down fall of DSL though. If you have to reboot your modem it can take a half hour or more to reconnect, so disconnect problems don't disappear when you get DSL, it can be worse at times.

Bloodsong, one draw back on satellite that can be pretty big. It's the weather. Rain or snow can mess you up big time. And if others are like me there is no satellite internet offered in my area and it cost a small fortune to sit up if you can get it.
riverqueen1972 Sep 2, 2008 7:37 am

Yeah, the thing is, while I play at FT, I see A LOT of people going thru disconnect problems, so maybe its the site...? Or a bit of both, who knows. I wouldnt bother with satellite, because of the weather factor, and yes, it is a lot of money to get it set up here.

Thanks kel
