Online annoyances

Aug 31, 2008 10:55 pm Report Abuse

I'll admit, I haven't been a railbird for very long, but I have played a lot of online poker, and in doing so I've found three things that REALLY annoy the heck out of me.

The first is somewhat obvious: the person who, no matter WHAT cards he or she has, will go all in pre-flop the first hand. This is especially annoying when I'm in a blind or I have a decent pocket pair. To make matters worse, half the time these morons WIN THE HAND!!!!!!

The second thing I've found that bugs me is an offshoot of the first thing: the guy who raises or goes all in as soon as possible every chance he gets. I saw a guy with over 100k in chips late in a tournament and he kept going all in preflop. Of COURSE as soon as someone calls him he actually has a decent hand and ends up winning.

The third thing that annoys me is the person who registers for the tournament, then goes afk and just blinds himself out. Now granted, sometimes it does happen something happens once the tourney has started and you have to leave, I've had it happen to me before so I know, but it is really annoying when out of 8 or 9 players 7 of them are "sitting out".

At any rate, now that I've got that off my chest, I need to go play some poker. Good luck to everyone and see you at the tables!

Hmmm you got a long way to go (as do I). I LOVE when those guys are in there is no better way to chip up quick. When I started my "issue" was patience and combativeness which I used against myself by getting ticked at various things. Once I got past that I could play the game and deal with the easy stuff - the math, the players, the table and the mechanics of the game.

In poker, like life - it is often your reaction to a situation - not the situation itself that is the greatest obstacle.

easy chips? yes, but it gets boring as hell very quickly... besides, i'm not a fan of taking chips 20 or 30 at a time
