Question about playing AA

Aug 29, 2008 11:43 pm Report Abuse

I have a question that and I am unsure how to play this, can I get so advice?

You are in a $5.50 rebuy online tourney, $50.000 guaranteed, it is early in the tourney still within the first hour. You are in middle position and the first good hand you get is Railbirds card: AdRailbirds card: Ac preflop, UTG goes all in and its fold to you, there are still 4 people to act after you. Would you fold or call? and why?

Thanks for your help.

call you know you are no worse than tied he may draw out on you but its not like your at final table with 3 all ins ahead of you

In a rebuy where people play much looser, then AA might not win a multi way pot. I would still call UTGs all in if UTG had me covered or reraise all in with AA. The only time I can fold AA is in a sattellite nearing the bubble for the prizes, all other times if it is getting all in preflop, best of luck to the other players. You can still rebuy if you lose, and if you can't afford to rebuy, you are playing in the wrong tournament.

Even though its best to go heads up against an opponent with AA, you'd have to call here. If you don't call an all in bet with the best pre flop starting hand, then what WOULD you call with?

I would definitely call an all in there. You have aces and no one else has acted after the initial all in. It's time to shove. Now if five people had called and then it was to you it's all up to you. If you call and lose you can't be angry, you were up against five other people. You still go in with the best hand and have a chance to quintuple up. If you do, you have a significantly better shot at cashing that tourney. If you fold with four or five other people in the pot, that's fine too. A lot of it comes down to what kind of player are you? :P Good luck on the felts.

I did call three time and won all three, but I saw AA three more time that other player were holding and they lost to QQ when Q hit the flop all three time. I got lucky and did cash. However, wanted to know what eveyone else would do. I was not sure if I did the right thing. Thanks for your comments.

Call...Could have High Pair AK A-10, Pocketz (crazy for wanting to double up?,could have Rebuy ready to go if he losez?) I've personally seen playaz do this @ Rebuyz even thought they have NOTHIN' your Oddz are great here I think if the other playaz are folding your other two acez and the Kingz or wat not are Allin (hiz kingz could have also been folded). It'z a Natural Call I think. GL.

wat? theres no way to justify a fold, especially in a rebuy.
locochaser Aug 30, 2008 12:21 am
Definitely call. Your odds of winning and doubling (or more) your stack justify the risk of having to pay the rebuy if you get beat.
