I know in Omaha people will call with a lo draw, flush draw or even open ended there but he had nothing but an underpair and str8 draw..just gross

Still not very good odds to make the winning hand; but unfortunately as you've seen, Omaha players LOVE to draw.
I used to like playing it every once in a while for a change of scenery, but the draws and re-draws drove me crazy.
Well, that is except when I was hitting the draws.
