A serious politacal descussion

Aug 29, 2008 4:50 pm Report Abuse

Ok so ive kind of been following this election we americans have coming up, but im still confused. I just dont know who too vote for, and know im not really worried about online poker there's other bigger issues that face this country.

Ok so I was a young adult when the Clinton years ended and from what I remember the country's ecomony was growing and there were plenty of jobs too be had and gas and fuel was below 2.00 a gallon. I want too know how old Bill was able too keep this country growing. Know I want too know why the country stopped groing during the Bush years.

Ok did the manufactures just up and leave when Bush got elected and if so why did they leave. Why did we stop growing as a country, why am i still making the same amount of know that I was 10 years ago. Is it really the presidents fault, is it really the goverments fault, I mean dont you all think we have too much goverment involved in our lifes.

So im just confused if anyone else been following this tell me who do i vote for. I mean if your listening most are saying that Mccain will be another 4 years of Bush do we really want that but on the other hand they say he will be different. If we elect Barrack who are we getting, they cant even prove that he was born in the united states, he claims he had a rough childhood but didnt we all.

Barrack claims he will fix this country but I want too know how. If his programs go through we will all still feel the pinch I think. Simply if he taxes the rich which remember 90% of the rich our are employers what will that do for us workers.

Barrack claims he is going too fix this country, And I want too know how and what exactly is Mccain going too do havent heard his speach yet but i guess thats next week.

My opinion. We haven't had a good president since Reagan. We havent even had any1 worthy to chose from. And this election is no different. Although I do worry about McCain, that doesnt scare me as much as if Barrack were elected. Im thankful Hillary is not a choice. That would be scary as well. And thank god Bush cant run again. This country couldnt take another 4 yrs of him.

Well the economy thing ALWAYS happens when a Republican gets into office. I relly don't know why because all the big money always goes republican and then when they get in consumer confidence goes WAY down and Wall Street follows. As for Clinton years I believe those two leaders truly turned this country around and if Gore wasn't so radical on the envirement he might very well be in the race now if not in office already.Obama/Biden SCARE me!!! I'm not sure these two could lead my local PTA but I really think 4 more years republican will finish this country off....................DL

Hello,
There is a thread set up in the forum specifically for topics as this.

If you are actually serious about making an informed decision you need to ignore the rhetoric that is thrown out by both canditates.

The US economy was indded very good during the Clinton years but a little research will show that it was in rapid decline and experts were predicting a recession regardless of who was elected Bush or Gore.

I don't think that you will see another 4 years of a Bush style government with McCain in office nor will you see the type of government when Clinton was in the white house if Obama gets elected.

There will be change with either cantidate, it just depends on who's policies are closer to your beliefs.

Actually the manufactures started leaving right after NAFTA was passed, long before Bush took office.

My highest income years was during the 80's. My income declined during the so called Clinton years by almost 30%. Those years weren't good for everybody. I retired soon after Bush took office and my retirement income is higher than it was during the 90's.

When you get down to it all of that would have happened regardless of who was in office. Presidents can't and don't do anything that really makes a difference in our income. They can only enforce the laws that Congress passes and nothing more.

Taxing the profits of the oil companies won't work. Think about it for a second. When a land lords property taxes goes up who pays those higher taxes? It's the renters in the way of higher rent. The same thing will happen with higher taxes on oil company profits. Those taxes will be passed on to the consumers and gas prices will go even higher.

If I were you I would look at the Libertarian Party for change. The Republicrats
are one and the same and have always been one and the same.

Our elections are more rigged than on-line poker. We have two parties that have rigged the election laws so that only one of those two parties can win and in many cases are the only two parties that are even allowed onto the ballot.

The casino's are rigged so that the odds are in their favor, but at least you do have a chance to win and do sometimes. Our elections are rigged so that you don't have a snowballs chance in hell of ever winning if you don't belong to the established parties.
