In my first RailBird tourney since Dec 2007 I placed 8th tonight and was pretty happy with my play overall. I made some early mistakes and a couple of early crazy moves. But I settled in, convinced myself to play seriously and told myself I couldn't settle for anything less than top 25. It worked!
One observation - the team aspect really works. I'm not on any team and the intimidation factor was there. The dogs came from everywhere, rooting on their teammates. I felt a little like it was me against the world.
Congrats to all that won something - be it money, knowledge or respect. See you next time!

I am on a team..... I didn't get any support. It wouldn't have made any difference if I did. I played my hands, and took my chances. A cheering section rarely changes how I decide to play any two cards.
You may have KO'ed me. I'm not really sure. I do recall that we were at the same table for quite some time and you played very well.
Congratulations,
John
The team support I saw was at the final table of the tourney. Not many railbirdies until then. I'm not saying it helped people play their cards any better, but for morale booster, teams seem like they would be nice. it hurts more when you are pushed off a bluff and 15 people tell your opponent "nh!" instead of the usual 1 or 2.
