I remember the day well. I was working at a dock bar in Annapolis, Maryland and as I was setting up WHFS was playing non-stop SRV and I thought it was strange until the dj came on and explained what happened... musta been how our parents felt when JFK was shot. A massive loss to blues and rock fans the world round. RIP

~Zin

p.s. I have lots of bootlegs if anyone is interested

Stevie Rays music is still as awesome today as it was then. This is my favorite all time song..but I still dig all his music.

Life by the Drop

HELLO THERE MY OLD FRIEND.
IT WASN'T TOO LONG AGO,IT WAS NEAR THE END.
WE PLAYED OUTSIDE IN THE POURING RAIN.
ON OUR WAY UP THE ROAD WE STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN.
YOU'RE LIVING OUR DREAM, OH, IT HELD YOU ON TOP.
MY MIND IS ACHING, LORD IT WON'T STOP.
THAT'S HOW IT HAPPENS LIVING LIFE BY THE DROP.

UP AND DOWN THE ROAD IN OUR WORN DOWN SHOES,
TALKIN ABOUT GOOD THINGS AND SINGING THE BLUES,
YOU WENT YOUR WAY AND I STAYED BEHIND.
WE BOTH KNEW IT WAS JUST A MATTER OF TIME.
MY MIND IS ACHING, LORD IT WON'T STOP. YOU'RE LIVING OUR DREAM, OH, YOU ON TOP. THAT'S HOW IT HAPPENS LIVING LIFE BY THE DROP.

NO WASTED TIME, WE'RE ALIVE TODAY. CHURNING UP THE PAST, THERE'S NO EASIER WAY.
TIME'S BEEN BETWEEN US, A MEANS TO AN END.
GOD IT'S GOOD TO BE HERE WALKING TOGETHER MY FRIEND.
WE'RE LIVING OUR DREAMS . . . .
MY MIND IS ACHING . . . .
THAY'S HOW IT HAPPENS LIVING LIFE BY THE DROP.( X3)

Well apperantly in the copy n paste a few of the lyrics got mixed up..but if you go to any music site and look for this song give it a listen, if you've never heard it you won't be disapointed i'm sure.

OMFG!!! I've got chills and goose bumps just thinkin about him now! I am soooo thankful that the man loved to play in this city (Toronto). I have seen him live 11 times and boy can that dude play the axe like no other! I'll even go out on a limb and say that he was the best guitarist ever, even to this day.....bar none! I've been to over 300 concerts in my time and by far he was the best, heads and shoulders above everybody else, in a class all his own for sure. I even had the privilege to see him on stage in a bar after I went to one of his concerts, he was on stage with Albert Collins, Robert Cray and Jeff Healey.
God Almighty took from us mortals one of His greatest gifts to mankind, took from us all that Stevie was and coulda been............I sure do hope He had a very good reason to do so.

Stevie, U DA MAN!!!!
