Just not in the mood anymore

Aug 27, 2008 8:01 am Report Abuse

Ive lost the thrill of the poker slash gambling chase. I just cant stand online poker anymore and honestly dont even think im going too play live much if any at all. ive just had it so please no more invites wont play no freerolls just done with online poker.

Those ones that are chasing online poker goals like the ferguson challenge ha good luck with that oh yeah and you better read plenty of books causee they all tell you the same damn thing. Yeah mentaly im just not in a poker mood right know and not sure how long this will last for, but its just not fun anymore.

Cheer up Buddy, poker is full of swings man, take a breather and youll be back fresh, trust me, best of luck when you do get the feeling to play again. And dont put too much pressure on yourself, get back to basics and try to build a roll from scratch, no need to go furgy but just nurture tthat small roll as it goes and make it a goal never to loose it all. I was up 350$ tooo weeks ago, went down to 1.98$ lol now im back up to 24.69$ lol slowly but surely man.

ah but you cant do that! take a good break and hit it again with a fresh attitude and as soon as you win a few you will be right back in it! EVERYONE goes through these changes. I'm just now gettin back in good form after a couple months of trash playing . GL and tc! see you on the next go around

Poker can be frustrating and somewhat cruel at times,... so can alot of the people who play it.

When one sets goals for oneself, and things start looking up,.. it can get really frustrating when ya run into what appears to be one roadblock after another. It's part of the journey and am sure it's happened to the best of the best.

Sure.. alot of the books are similiar in nature (although some are written far better than others) and some of them are excellent. From the sounds of things, you might even want to consider reading a few of the 'other' poker books out there, like 'Poker Mindset', "Psychology of Poker", "Zen and The Art of Poker". I'm just getting into these ones myself right now as I have been my biggest enemy on the table for awhile now and know it. Keeping a good frame of mind is a daunting task for me at times while playing poker but is a necessary skill for me to practise and get better at if I have hopes of progressing further.

Sometimes some time off can also do wonders. GL!! Don't give up. A friend of mine once said to me, (when others were doubting his dreams and pursuits), he said, "Sure,.. I may fall flat on my face in the mud but if you look down at the impression there, I'm sure you'll see a big smile on that face." makes sense doesn't it...

If it isn't fun, it isn't worth doing ! It is like that with everything in life, not just poker ! A good friend of mine who lives back home in Illinois told me last summer, that he was done with sex ! I asked him what he meant and he told me that is was too much work, took too much energy, caused him to be so short of breath he thought he was surely going to die, and with all of that, it just wasn't fun anymore ! He is 74 years old !

A few weeks later we were sitting, fishing together, and he told me that he had chnged his mind, I guess he walked in on his wife diddling, and got so excited, that he decided to give it another go, he said this time he just laid down, and let her do all the work for a change, and found that to be a whole lot eaiser, as well as fun ! Then he said that in 44 years of marriage he had never saw her do that, and that she knew he was going to catch her, and that is why she did it, to excite him ! What a woman !

One day, you will get excited about poker again, and when you do, it will be fun again, and worth the effort, I am sure !

.....Tc.....
