Did he play this because he had a big chip stack? Did I miss something? This guy had been hittin 3 outers left and right...or maybe its rigged...lmao...As always, you're opinions are appreciated...Peace

Are you saying that my reraise Post Flop wasn't a hint that I had the K....lol
whoareyou Aug 23, 2008 12:38 am
the 7 4 guy had 12 outs on the turn
rtenley Aug 23, 2008 12:38 am

He had a lot of chips, and you said he was running good maybe he felt lucky. . . . . you want players like this to call though in the long term you will come out ahead. Just curious what did you think that he had? By not all-inning the flop it seems like a steal maybe that was his read.

With his lead out on the flop he wasn't folding, 3 handed he must have thought 2nd pair was good. GL

There are no stakes where you can avoid it. There is always some idiot with more money than brains no matter how high you go.

I don't even understand why he called the pre flop raise ! He must have been watching Gus Hansen on television play a hand like this, and figures if it is good enough for Gus, it was good enough for him ! Kinda makes you sick, huh ?

.....play on .....Tc.....

redsox62axe Aug 23, 2008 12:42 am

I think you get this kinda play at EVERY level from the big stack.
stardust34 Aug 23, 2008 12:54 am
Some days it really makes you wonder.
redsox62axe Aug 23, 2008 12:54 am

buick60 Aug 23, 2008 12:56 am
Sorry I meant to add I've watched the Sunday Million Final Table replay on PokerStars and it's amazing what the big stack will call with and play to showdown.
superdog777 Aug 23, 2008 12:56 am
the big blind was 150 u had 2400 he had 9000 ... the move i would have made at that point would be to push pre flop... then he would have been put to the test... 63% of the time in heads up no one hits the flop so he thought two things... 1 you were quasi short stacked so you may be trying to steal by not fully comitting pre flop and two the odds are in his favor u didint hit... when u reraised him he was already committed and was not in danger of being knocked out and had a pair so he called and got lucky...
ButtonDog Aug 23, 2008 1:06 am
I guess he figured that he was so far ahead of everybody in chips that 300 chips was worth a look at the flop heads up. With ten outs at least he must have figured it was worth risking one fourth of his chips to try to take you out.

As far as how high you have to go to avoid this I don't believe there is a limit because there are people at all levels that play in a way I don't understand.
TMHawk11 Aug 23, 2008 1:15 am
red i play alot of diff. buy ins and no matter the price there is always one or two that suck. It seems that sometimes the higher the buy in the less they worry about the money. Play your came you are solid, the luck of the donkeys wont last forever. cough cough,gl bro

KQo is not a very good hand either, still a tough break, but don't but your life on KQo
kash350 Aug 23, 2008 1:25 am
yea i feel like this happens to me all the time also
Fanch Aug 23, 2008 1:31 am
Im madder at the sites and their "random" dealing than i am at the players lol
Sandman2369 Aug 23, 2008 1:43 am
I play the same stakes and I see it all the time. Last night, the eventual winner had knocked out two players and was the monster stack. One of the very short stacks, 135 in chips pushed, and a guy with 1300 in chips pushed to discourage any callers. Big Stack calls with 7 10, can not remember if it was soooted or not. 5 cards later he wins with a 7 on the turn. Unbelievable.
