There seems to be some confusion as to what members can do as far as contests are concerned here at Railbirds. For a long time there were no contests allowed by members, but recently it was decided to let them resume. I think that one of the reasons that there has been confusion about what you can do, and can't do, has never been offically posted in a blog, and for a long time was not found by going to the FAQ section, (although it is there now). I will also leave them posted on my page for a while, for easy reference.
There have been several people who attempted to help others start a bankroll with a contest, and the blog ended up being deleted, because it violated the rules that they were probably unaware of even existed. To those people I say here is a copy of the official rules for contests here on Railbirds, and please try again! For everyone else who has been considering a contest, read the rules, and abide by them, and all will be fine. If you have a question about interpretation of any part of them, PM me or any other Prorail, and we would be glad to explain it further !
OFFICIAL RULES FOR CONTESTS ON RAILBIRDS.COM:
1. When posting a contest blog, please set the deadline for one week from the date the blog was posted. That should give sufficient time to get entries in.
2. When posting a contest blog, once the contest has ended, please either delete the blog or contact a prorail to have the blog locked. This way there is no confusion to members that the contest has ended.
3. All Monetary value contests are to be paid as soon as the contest ends.
4. Should a person fail to keep up his or her end of a monetary value contest, the member will not be allowed to post a contest again.
5. You run and enter contests at your own risk. Railbirds is not responsible for any non compliance of the contests or actions of those involved. Railbirds doesn't help with scammers in any way, so please govern yourself accordingly.
6. When posting contest blogs, members must not be required to post comments in the comment section of the blog. If members choose not to post their entry on the blog itself, they will be allowed to enter via pm.
7. Contests must be open to ALL Railbirds.
