On a whim...

Aug 11, 2008 10:51 pm Report Abuse

This afternoon as I was about to register for the Freeroll on Poker stars I happened to see a $2.20 Tournament. I thought I'd see what the "special structure" was and come to find out it was a turbo. So I thought for a minute ... I play a lot of Turbo SNGs and have played the 10 FFP fest, so I figured what the heck..can't be that different. lol

Well, to my delight I was doing quite well made some great calls and before I knew it had a very nice chip stack. Nothing too outrageous, but well above average. I'd slide down to average and then back up a little.

We were down to the final 2 tables and while I wasn't desperate, I sure needed to make a move with the blinds being so terribly high.

This is hand that pretty much did it for me.

Poker is about Return On Investment, and it seems that you did just fine; now that you know where to find the tournament and are comfortable with the play, sent aside the money to re-invest in 3 or 4 more "on a whim" ventures (guard and protect the rest of your gained funds). It would be nice, on future days when you are feeling good about your game and have the time, to see if you can repeat or improve upon this nice cash.

Way To Go, gini! Good luck; keep it fun - play well & profit (again!).
