Your cell phone is in your pocket.
He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

You talk trash about your 'buddies' that aren't with you.
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.
He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.

You complain about how hot it is.
He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.

You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.
He doesn't get to eat today.

Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.

You go to the mall and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.

You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.
He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.

You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.

You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.

You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.
He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.

You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the broken bodies lying around him.

You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.
He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.

You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.
He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.

If you support your troops, send this to 7 people.
If you don't support your troops well, then don't send this out. You won't die in 7 days, your love life won't be affected, and you won't have the worst day ever.
You don't have to email this. It's not like you know the men and women that are dying to preserve your rights.

REMEMBER our Troops, and do not forget them LATER

about the pics missing try using a different browser, i have to do that sometimes
I mean no offense by my words, and those of you who take it that way may just misunderstand what I mean. I mean absolutely NO disrespect for the fighting forces of the USA. I respect both them and the tough jobs they do. I have personal friends of mine, whom I went to school and grew up with on their third tours in Afghanistan.
However, this message as it stands is pure propaganda, designed with a specific end cause in mind. And I disagree with that.
Insurgents and terrorists? Be reasonable. They are words designed to evoke a response. If (hypothetically) some country invaded the USA and toppled the government, every single one of you who took up arms to fight the invaders would be labeled as 'Insurgents and Terrorists' Even if the invading army told you in advance that it was doing this for your own good. Even if those reasons were all purely made up bullchit.
The 'War on Terror' is supposed to be about Al-Qaeda. Some dude named bin Ladin. Whom the 'Coalition' troops once had cornered in a hole called Tora Bora. Instead of taking out Target #1, the US gov't pulled out the troops and sent them to Iraq for reasons you know full well are fake. First it was because of the WMD's... which didn't exist, and the Saddam-Osama connection, which also didn't exist. Now it's all about bringing democracy to a place that never wanted it in the first place, isn't going to keep what they have, has now cost thousands of wasted US soldiers lives over nothing, has put the economy of your country into the depths of the toilet, has made you a laughingstock of the rest of the world. This is not my opinion, merely fact. The real fight against terror should be directed where it is really needed, but instead more money is wasted in this debacle. The US government has used it as a ruse to take away more 'Freedom' in the disguise of Homeland Security. It's already a proven fact that 9-11 could have been prevented, but the ball was dropped on too many occasions.
Now.... as I said, I have the utmost respect for the soldiers and the work they do. But to put out something like this, which at it's heart says, 'Support Our War', then I have to object. For those of you who responded to my comment with hostility I ask, whatever happened to "I may not agree with your position, but I will defend your right to say it to the death?" Isn't that what "FREEDOM" is all about? This is not about support for the troops in WWII where there was a clear-cut case of the good guys versus the bad guys. The lines have been blurred. Blind trust for your leadership can have grave consequences. I'm all for a just fight, but this wasn't just. Gimme a break. Just speaking my mind.
