The "CONGRATULATIONS" Column

The hot month of July proved to be a great one for members of DonkeyNation, and no one was more fired up than Me_Tom, who becomes the first member of the Herd to sweep both the top prizes - a very nice month replenishes his BankRoll and captures both the "Momma Mia" and "Poor Daddy" trophies - congratulations, Tom!

This contest has been ongoing for some time (conceived by Powder2469, enhanced by ShowMeJohn, it grew from this November '07 blog, Donkey Nation..Top Donkey, into the Top Donkey of the World Con... and became a multi-trophied monthly event (New Donkey Contest, Februa... ). Since their inception in February, no one has simultaneously held both main prizes ... but now -

The Top Donkey - July - Leader Results are Me_Tom as the "Momma Mia" top donkey (Best Damn Donkey July- Momma Mia) ...

... This is Tom's second "Momma Mia" diamond - he also won back in April - and all indications are that it won't be his last. He's an intense competitor who anchors DonkeyNation's European contingent along with manx3legs, and has now set a record that can only be duplicated, never broken - well done, Me_Tom!

... Sweets_aka_Sun, our DonkeyQueen, continues to impress with excellent play - she is extremely generous with her time, participating and supporting tournaments for all Railbirds, not just DonkeyNation - and now she has Phoo by her side. Nice job, Sweets!

In her first full month of retirement, Phoo is showing that the top-prize may soon be hers. As one of DonkeyNation's best railers, warmest personality, and becoming a more dangerous player each day, she will soon need extra room on her very nice Homepage for her awards. Congratulations, Phoo!

The Top Donkey - July - Leader Results are Me_Tom as the "Poor Daddy" top donkey (Best Damn Donkey July- Poor... ) ...

... Can you say, "deja vu"? This, however, is Me_Tom's first "Poor Daddy" award and should fit nicely between his two "Momma"s, a sight that may require a visit to his Homepage for any voyeurs. Nicely done, Tom - this is a true moment in the history of the Herd - again, congratulations.

... ShowMeJohn takes second in what may be a first (please let the "JackAss Journal" know of any factual errors) - his entire winnings came from FreeRolls only! This is a big accomplishment and shows that "freerolling" can add up to a great beginning of, or increase to, a BankRoll. DonkeyNation's Missouri Mule continues to demonstrate that there's more than one way to make real money - excellent return on your investment of time and skill, John!

This month Ronnie continued to add to his collection, and I believe he's after sets (of 6? 8?) of all the cups - he'll do it, too - because he's becoming a fixture of this contest. Congratulations on another month of making certain that anyone who beats you must play very well and win often - Way To Go, Ronnie!

Donkey Nation Golden Shoes are a new addition to the Herd's award and recognition programs, and serve as a reminder that, while not capturing one of the top-3 prizes may be disappointing, it is striving for the pinnacle - winning at the poker table - that motivates many of us. You can be very successful yet not capture a trophy, but gaining one of these medals (and increasing your BankRoll) is a nice reward - congratulations to all who now have the right to post one - well done.

Every Sunday at 15:00 (server time) on FTP is DonkeyNation's own contribution to the Private Tournaments (A$$ Kickin Time again!). The donkey working his "A" off for this Herd function is this month's Card Shark and very deserving of the honor - way to go, Keith (steph809)!

As I believe all know, Keith goes beyond "normal efforts" and does all he can to promote DonkeyNation and the goal of playing great poker while having good fun - an incredible railer and RB.com prankster, he's one of our own comedy team (the Herd's version of "The Three Stooges," along with GlennFish and Bluesboy47), and a man welcomed at any poker table - congratulations, steph809, and THANK YOU.

Everyone should also know that Me_Tom didn't stop at the end of the month, but has begun August with a bang (& you thought that fireworks were only for July) - winning a RAZZ tournament for a very nice cash - so best of luck to all this month, as it will be another tough battle for the top prizes (donkeys wouldn't want it any other way).
