Poker vs Golf

Poker vs Golf

I’ve been trying to think of analogies to golf and poker.

Each player must complete a successive number of plays before a hand/hole is decided.

I can think of no other sport where you are psychologically pitted one on one (or one on many) in such a unique manner. I suppose one could play golf… while one could not play poker…!!!!

We can petition the IOC later… Poker may just replace swimming… as poker is greatly favored over swimming in France as a sport!!

Sorry, I was a Swimmer… before they had my event… (Drink as much as you can)…

No really… was 50 Free… I was good… (if you count broken tiles at pool ends where I bumped my head)…

>>

Seriously, I’m not interested in any sport… except where the BEST win… and most especially by a small margin…

>>

Thus… I LOVE showdowns….

I’ve created one… Golf vs. Poker !!

My views…

Please add to this…. as these are the only two ‘sports’ I participate in now…

I want to be sure to direct my attention…

(TC… none of that ‘pink' stuff… while sport & play… ‘club in the hole’ is not really golf!!!)

>>

Golf: you keep your own score

Poker: dealer keeps score

Golf: you trust your opponent

Poker: Don’t take your eyes off him

Golf: 1-5 is good or great

Poker: 1-5 is bad ‘less you have’em all then it’s ok

Golf: shorts are optional

Poker: Suits dictate game play

Golf: You prefer a club

Poker: Clubs are the worst

Golf: After 18, you go out for a beer.

Poker: after 18 you’re happy, sad or broke

Golf: spikes are optional

Poker: spikes are deadly

Golf: you hit an Iron great 1/72

Poker: you hit a flop great… 1/8000

Golf: you bet and lost the Nassau –75¢

Poker: your last loss was $75

I happen to be a big fan of both but you lost me here as to how you compare apples with oranges!

do you mean like ;

Golf puts a ball in the hole and poker has cards in the hole ? lol

Good luck on the tables! Railbirds card: Kh

I had NO idea poker ducks was a reserved word... WOW...

In golf when we mean duck.... we yell four...

Is that a bluff?

Tx 4 comment credit due!

FORE in golf usually means someone's head migh get busted if they don't duck

FOUR in poker usually means your hand is busted

True enough Pappa...

Sadly, I've parted a few hairs... the same guy... the same round... the same hole, the same minute !!

Think mulligans are not deadly... I've put it within 10" of the cup on 1 mulligan.
but nearly pierced this guys scalp twice with one...

He should not have been standing there... Still !!!!!

No... the cart was not fast enough !!!

Apparently a new part only cost tons of beer... hmmmm
