Today's question :(

Jul 24, 2008 3:12 am Report Abuse

Hey all,

I did not like the answer for todays question at all. You hit a big hand and your opponent shoves on the river and you are supposed to lay it down... WITH the chip lead? You have a huge hand with an ace kicker, you can afford to take a shot here. I understand what could be out there but this is a heads up situation and your opponent is known to bluff. Isn't this the exact situation you want? If you can't take a shot here when can you? A full house or a higher set are the only hands you fear, from how the hand played I really doubt he has you out set or the case two and a card to match the board. I'll just wait for a royal flush to come along to take this one down. I don't always agree with the question but can at least can appreciate a different (usually more conservative) viewpoint, but this is just silly. If it was for your tournament life I might be willing to listen, but you have all the ingredients for a championship: He's all in, you are not at risk and you have a monster hand,. just win the damn thing.

I agree, especially since it said he was a bluffer

so take the chance to get crippled with a dumb hand to even play..A/2...that hand first off should be folded preflop..no questions asked. But most bad players will play it and hope to god they win. You hit a 2 then another 2...the worst possible set. Who cares if it's a set..coin flip it's beaten. To risk his tournament...I wouldn't call..chip lead or no chip lead. You can't win on one pot..you got to play for the long haul. That's why the answer is what it is. Why risk your stack..so you can feel good for a second?? You already got a nice stack..why not wait for a good hand to do it with..why risk it with A/2?? The tournaments probably got a lot of players left...so pace yourself..don't just be a mindless drone and play big early..no point in it..unless you don't plan on making final tables.

totally agree with you

I think it's an ace in a head up situation? This isn't a ring game lol, it's heads up. By the way to make a final table you have to know you are at the final table, heads up.
billyjustin Jul 24, 2008 3:32 am
actually..it is a HU match. So my bad on the pacing yourself..already there. But still...says dude is a really tight player..with occasional bluffs. Either way..I still think you should fold. It's the answer I gave and it was right. I'd pick a better hand...you tried to control the pot and it got taken out of your control..for everything. You call...you're down to about .3 mil in chips..if you lose. Or yes..you could take it down right there. I'd rather wait till I had the nutz. personally..If I'm in that situation...I played to damn hard to get there and won't be forced to make a call like that unless I was definite I had the best hand. Whatever...you have your opinion..and I have mine

who the hell makes these questions, id like to see his track record to show why folds like this are working, maaaybe if this was a proven pro with tons of wins id even take this into consideration but this fold is the stupidest thing ive ever read, he could have top pair, over pair, top 2, so many other hands and to just put him on a fullhouse is so stupid, ESPECIALLY headsup. yet another donkey question by railbirds.
MrWimpy Jul 24, 2008 3:40 am
bet, raise, re-raise, all in......what do you think it means? He knows! youve got trips and still goess all in???????????
MrWimpy Jul 24, 2008 3:41 am

vagsin Jul 24, 2008 3:44 am

Supertramp77 Jul 24, 2008 3:59 am
lol @capwned
i had last week a mail traffic with the prorails because after my opinion the birdies would go broken if they take the quizanswers serious. so i can tell you this: allegedly the quiz is made by a succesfull swedish pro. i have massive doubts that the translation from swedish to english is correct if thats true...lmao.

finally: isnt it funny that the name of this "pro" is not public? i mean...if a worldclassplayer joins a community every community is proud about that (as it was with Tom MC Evoy). so , as you see...doubts whereever you look about this mystic quizmaster...

Never go broke in an unraised pot.
