Unregistrations from Full Tilt

Jul 23, 2008 12:25 pm Report Abuse

Dear all,

It has come to my attention that some - rather a lot, really - of our members were booted from the two tournaments we held on Full Tilt Poker yesterday. One was a freeroll, the other a real money tournament.

In these cases, it appears that Full Tilt have decided to unregister some - but for not reason, not all - of the people not registered through our links to them. Obviously, they didn't bother to ask us first; if they had, we would not have allow the practice.

We are very aware that many of you had accounts on Full Tilt and other sites prior to joining Railbirds, and I just want to clarify that - since I don't know the exact number of affected - the email some of you have gotten, which states that you are not affiliated with Railbirds and thus not allowed to play, is incorrect.

We have thanked Full Tilt for trying to protect us through these measures, but asked them to please not do it again.

Now if only this had worked as well on password thieves and not honest members...

Cheers,
InfoBird / RailJoe

Let's hope that it happened to some of the password thieves as well. If it did maybe word will get out to those pw thief sites that they will be booted.
ButtonDog Jul 23, 2008 2:03 pm
This may show a willingness of Full Tilt to work with us in protecting our tournaments from crashers. Maybe we could send Full Tilt a list of known password thieves and banned members and they can start booting people on that list from the tournaments. The list could be updated after each tournament and sent to whoever it is at Full Tilt that would be handling this.

hopefully we are getting closer to protecting our tourneys

LMAO! Little late isnt it? Ive been here for over a year now and ive never heard of ftp booting people out freerolls and RMR games becouse they didnt sign up trough the link. And so ftp shows again why i remain the biggest pokerstars fan, they just went ahead with something without speaking to the people and companies its all about. Its a shame, worthy of an apology (although i dont think ftp will ever issue that)

RoseG42 Jul 23, 2008 2:26 pm
Sounds like a good first effort to get the problem fixed, maybe there can now be a way to work with fulltilt and not get mad at them for trying.
topcat1954 Jul 23, 2008 2:30 pm

This is sort of like closing the barn door, after the horse has ran off !

Then if at least one site seems willing to address the PW issue, maybe now is the time to really take positive action and open communications while they seem open to addressing the issue.

There are only 2 things that will ever stop PW abuse.

1. Poker sites would need to devise a ticket/unique password system. They have ways to protect their own sponsored games, they should be more responsive to sponsors of private games. The technology is already within their ability since Stars and FT issue unique tickets and tokens by the thousands each day.

2. Sites like the Birds need to establish some tougher rules. I, for one, would not mind at all waiting (say 24-36 hours) for a payout verified by the sponsoring site. In order to cash, entering our player ID's in the profile would be required. Nothing wrong with that, and certainly not a violation of any privacy. What group that has 'members' ever allows members to become one without identification (poker sites are 'not' AA or NA, so forget using those as reasons of privacy).

If poker sites are willing to offer private games, and charge accordingly, then they should also take some responsibility in protecting the sponsor's payouts. Birds only has 2 (sometimes 3) MTT's per day. Yes, there are usually about 100 pay spots for the FR's, but only 9 to 27 on the RM games. How hard would it be to check a few names for proper membership if we started with just the RM games? It can't be that big a deal for sites to set up a program that would 'hold' funds deposits until released by the sponsor.

I would venture a guess that with 57,000 members, there are likely enough volunteers (like the prorails) to form a verification staff. Extra work? No doubt! But the only way to ever stop PW thieves, sharing, and the b**tard posting forums.

In the FR's, if non-Birds knew they could never cash, they wouldn't play. Entries would drop dramatically and so would the number of spots ITM.

Maybe it's time to jump on the bandwagon while the wagon is in town.

If my vote counts I would vote yes on restrictions for the free Rolls. They should be for active Railbirds and not every Tom Dick and Harry. Cards chat will be raiseing the post count to get in their FRs to 50 starting in Aug. Maby something like that would help ward off the thieves.

Just my 2 cents

Thanks a lot... This has not happened to me but I have noticed that if for some reason I catch a tourny right before it starts on FT, if I am 10 seconds late, and I am not exaggerating, they will not let me in.. And this is during the "seating" process. But oh well. Every Sunday, I just BARELY make the 6pm tourny. I mean it is CLOSE. I am happy to announce that I did my own research and got a password stealer completely banned. That felt really good, because I like the integrity of this site. Sometimes I wish I didn't like poker as much as I do. Let's just keep this as tight-knit as possible and NEVER give out passwords. NEVER. If someone wants it bad enough, they will sign on.

See Ya'll on the felt. Hopefully I'll get in the top 50 soon...

well, why werent blogs flying like crazy people whining about being kicked out~we havent seen one person say anything to my knowledge~so maybe these innocent ppl had multiple accounts.~that sure is a possiblity!~

AND WHY ISNT IT A GOOD SYSTEM,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,KEEP THEM BANNED BIRDS OUT,IF THEIR IP# AND ACCOUNTS R BANNED FROM RAILBIRDS,,,WHY NOT LET FOOLTILT CHECK RAILBIRDS ACTIVITY AND SEE WHOS BANNED AND WHO ISNT??

THATS ONE WAY TO SOLVE IT,,,,,,,LET EM CHECK THE SITE TO SEE WHO IS REGIESTERED PROPERLY AND WHO ISNT!~I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY RAILBIRDS WOULDNT WANT THAT!!!~

THERES BEEN SO MANY ISSUES ABOUT NON BIRDS WINNING RAILBIRDS MONEY,WHY NOT COOPERATE AND SAY,,,,,,,,YES.WE APPRIECIATE YOUR SYSTEM AND WOULD ALLOW IT!~??????????

I THINK ITS A GREAT IDEA!~

GirlLynn Jul 24, 2008 9:36 am
