It was my pleasure to go see the USAF Thunderbirds perform this past weekend. It was very difficult to decide which pictures to put in here as I took 735 of them! Many of the shots I got were just plane (no pun intended) lucky. I was using rapid fire when the planes would fly by in hopes of getting a few good pictures. I think I did.
It was interesting to be back on the McCord base. Last time I was on the base (even though I pass by it several times a year and am a retired military member) was in the late late 70's and I was doing preventitive maintenance on cooling and heating equipement. The place has really changed, LOL!
Well, I hope you enjoy the pictures.
OK OK, SINCE I HAVE BEEN ASKED MORE THAN ONCE, THE FIRE BALL IS FROM THE PLANES YOU SEE DOING AN RE-ENACTMENT OF PEARL HARBOR AND THEY HAD SOME MUNITIONS THEY WERE SETTING OFF ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. TO MANY HEADS IN THE WAY FOR ME TO GET A PICTURE OF THAT.

Cool Pics D. You took some great pics.
Bet it was great to watch

Great pics Duane. I saw the Thunderbirds do this one about 20 - 30 feet over the water at "The Battery" in Charleston, SC in 1977, but I think they were a little closer to each other.
Wow, great shots Dr. D.!! I use to love going to airshows with my family when I was a kid. When I was in the Navy, I got to watch the blue angels pratice over the base in Pensacola, FL while I was in A school. Then, it was a real treat to be stationed on an aircraft carrier (the USS NIMITZ CVN68) and got to watch an air show everyday while I worked.
I wouldn't mind too much to see a part two to this blog.

Later D, thanks for sharing!!

So you say you were using rapid fire...What kind of camera were you using?
We also have air shows here in Halifax, maybe not as big as you guys in the states
, nevertheless, it's always a rush to see those fighter jets go by.
