This game is amazing. You get to meet so many people and everyone is always willing to help you with your game. I have had issues with money through the years, but I'm always willing to learn. Either way, life goes on with or without poker...I've learned to understand it.

GL on the felt.

MY STORY OF POKER

When I first started playing online I had no idea what I was doing. Had no idea what a donkey was or anything like that.

I met a nice fella online who introduced me 2 railbirds and I haven't looked back and he's still my mate woot.

Railbirds has helped me become a better person and made me feel a bit more comfortable with myself

MY STORY OF POKER.........

I'm the kind of person if i do something i go 100 % from the start i live close to many casinos one day i was at a casino and i saw they were having a poker tournament i decided to try it the buy in was 1000$ i was a little nerves because i didn't want to look like a total idiot i wasn't even sure how the blinds went but i thought i will play just good hands i played poker with friends and did well. the first hand was dealt i get pocket aces the guy 2 seats to my right goes all in im thinking what a great way to start off i call now we are both all i show pocket aces hes got crap something like Q 8 off suit i had a ear to ear smile when i saw Q 8 .
the flop comes something like 10,Q 8 needless to i was like damn and now it him with the ear to ear smile
the rest of the hand come i get no ace my aces were cracked 1 hand i was out quickest 1000 i ever lost lol so they give me a Little plastic trophy the says i was first person out in the tournament ..not a trophy i proudly display lol that was my first poker experience i am mostly a brick and mortar player after the change in the new law that made it tough for US players and with some of the stuff you hear about scandals i kinda backed away form on line poker but then i came across rail birds
rail birds has sparked my interest in on line play again not just because its the best poker community i seen on line but because the people are really friendly and i think the post are helpfull and interesting ...oh yea i cant go without saying i won that 1000$ back a week later lolol

MY STORY OF POKER==..Well about 2 years ago the Sands Casino invited my husband and I to a private poker tourney..It paid $15,000 and our entry was free.I had never ever played poker in my life but my husband and friends played a live game every Saturday night for a couple of years. I could never understand How the hell anyone could pay cards from 5:30 at night until 5:30 in the morning,,I thought it was ridiculous waste of time.

...When we received that invitation he said to me.."You are gonna play in this..it's free and the money prizes are great."..I said "I don't know the first thing about it"..He said your coming Saturday to Al's.."we will teach you!"

Well we got to Al's and they tried to explain it...I was confused about what a blind was ..I had them frustrated and laughing at me telling me to go get the blonde dye!..There was no hope when I left there.

The next week we drove to the Sands Casino..All the way down he was telling me stuff that was going in one ear and out the other. I was sick to my stomach. I did not want to play . I thought I would look foolish like I did the week before. I thought everyone that was in the tourney were like professional poker players and Iwould piss them off.

Well we got in the line and they told me to pick a tile for my seat! I freaked out."You mean I can't sit with my husband?" ,,,Well I wanted to run right then. He insisted it would be alright. He walked me to my table andthere sat the dealer.." I said "HI..I wanna apologize before we even start I don't know how to play!"..He smiled and said "You'll be fine" George left to find his seat which was all the way on the other side of the room. I wanted to cry.My stomach was flipping inside. In my eyes I was sitting with Doyle Brunson and every other pro. So then a guy sits down next to me.Now when I am nervous I talk and talk and talk..I said to him "Do you play a lot because I am sorry I don't know how to play so don't get mad"..He says "No.............(sigh of releif from me)..."only every other night! " He was from the Bronx and seemed to know a lot of the other players... He looked like he came right off the Sopranos. But I made him laugh and he told me "Don't worry bout it"....As every player sat down I told them all the same thing "Don't be mad LOL"...

Well it was about to start and they put the dealer button in front of me.."I shook..I said."OMG..I can't deal I don't know how!"..They all laughed..DUH! They explained it was just the button...(In my mind ..WTF is the button)

As the cards were dealt It didn't matter what I had..I was clueless I was worried about my chips so when it got to my turn I would say "How much do I have to put in??"..If it was more than I wanted to give up..I would say.."OHHHHHHHH NO NOT THAT MUCH"....So I would fold..Now keep in mind I probably folded Aces because I did not know good from bad cards lol..Well .I think I folded a million hands before I finally thought the price was right and said "Okay"..I won a whole bunch of chips..I was so proud I told them "OOOOOO I have to show my husband!".I am waving across the room holding up my big tray!....Then I filled a second tray somehow (still could never tell you how)..But by now I made a lot of friends and had them laughing their butts off..they were more amazed then me! I knocked some out. They stayed to cheer me.Laughing as somehow I was beating these guys.

Well my husband got knocked out and came over he was aggravated said he was going to slot machine..He be back...I was scared and my stomach was still shaking..I wanted to go with him..after all I just sat there for him!

Well there were 222 people that started and it paid top nine. After a couple hours I was still playin.George came back periodically checking on me. Finally there were two tables left..George comes in the room to find me sittin there with about ten guys behind me cheering me on!..He got behind me and said."Wow do you know How great this is?....So by then my mind was thinking..MMMM...

Now heres the best.....We got down to ten players..I had a little stack of chips..There were two guys with GIANT stacks that were very serious players...and they were not nice lol they really did not like each other..SO..my mind thought Gee if I don't play these guys hate each other..One of them is gonna knock the other out and I will be in the top 9...So that was my plan.

I got dealt AQ...lo stacked lol..(but to me I did not know AQ was great to get it didn't matter I was foling anything I got)...George was behind me with the other fellows..he sees mr fold AQ..he grabs my shoulder.."What are you doin?" ..

I said SHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Get outta here!....Well flop comes they started betting/raising betting Woolah!..One knocked the other out!..HOORAY!!! I made $1000.00 dollars..the guys were cheering it was great!..George was on the cell phone with the guys he plays with at home..I heard him say"Al your not gonna beleive this..She is at the final table!" LOL...I ended up sixth place. But Right afterwards I said George I gotta go to bathroom right now..All the way down the hall he was gleaming he kept telling me how great that was..I ran into the bathroom....I actually vomited LOl..My nerves were so wound up for hours.

Well that was in January and the next month they had the same tourney on Valentines Day...Once again George got knocked out...I felt so much better this time because I knew lots of the guys . But we got down to 33 people and I started feeling weird..I couldn't sit there I pushed my chips in and our host shrugged like What are you doin...I said I don't feel to hot..I went and found George at the slot machine..he handed me a 20..I put it in machine while standing there telling him I am going up to the room..I don't feel to Hot!!..3 pulls on the handle.I hit $2700.00..George is estactic..I am aggravated they are taking so long with the paperwork to sign for taxes...Finally they come..I sign and handed G the money..i said I am goin upstairs a bit..well i ended up turning Completely BLUE!..I was in the hospital for a week there ..LOLThey still don't know why...but....Now I am a poker addict and when we play live I am the one that doesn't want to quit at 5:30 am lol....(I made a lot of great friends there that we still meet every so often...so it was a great experience)
