So what does eveyrbody think about the delay for the final table? Good? Bad? Does it help the players prepare or is just a big marketing ploy?

Its all marketing. Its good for the players who might not yet be good enough to take it down. Theyll all be able to prepare and practice and get tutored by the best in the world.

We wont know if its good or bad until its over

its all about money - I think it takes a bit of the bang out of being the world champion. Dont get me wrong they did still make it through a big field to get to the final table but the get 4 months to study there oponents, get training from pros and pretty much change there style from what got them to the final table. I guess there are some pros and cons of the thing and im sure the delay will create some buzz about the final table and of course it will make the sponsers some money.

terrible alot of things could happen to you. What if you die good 4 other players.

I wonder what would happen if they tried that with Baseball? In my opinion it sucks.

I think it is a good move. More coverage of the series without knowing the winner ahead of time. Plus, with no big names at the table, it gives the players an opportunity to gather sponsorship, make appearances, and otherwise self promote themselves and the event. I think it will be good for the event.

thth261432ighkbr.gif image by SherriDphotosI did a blog on it called " 117 days lmao "

and that's basically what I think of it in a nutshell lmaooo ,

it's too long , I can see having a live final but not 117 days !!

It is bad for poker and it is a bad marketing ploy. They have delayed it until Veterans Day weekend. This is very disrespectful to Veterans all over the world. This weekend is known in many other countries as Rememberance Day and is held as a day of reference world wide. They will be losing a big tv audience by delaying it until that time.

The WSOP for 2008 is over as far as I'm concerned and this will be just another table game where the last two standing will go head to head after another break. Poor planing on their part.

It will give them time to dig up and exploit items like this:

David "Chino" Rheem ME final tablist has warrant
David "Chino" Rheem, who played poker in South Florida in the early 2000s, beat out 6,835 players to make the final table in the World Series of Poker's main event.
Eight years ago in Broward County, Rheem was convicted of dealing in stolen property and burglary, both felonies, as well as larceny and possession of marijuana, court records show. He was sentenced to four months jail time and 30 months probation.

He also failed to appear in court on a 2003 misdemeanor trespassing charge in Hollywood, according to state criminal records, leading to a court order for his arrest. The warrant for his arrest remains active.

Rheem could not be reached for comment. Neither Rheem's main sponsor, PokerStars.net, nor World Series officials said they knew of Rheem's background.

From Sun Sentinel.com

wonder what else will happen...
