How would you define "spam" ?

Jul 16, 2008 9:56 pm Report Abuse

Just a general off-topic question. In my opinion spam is when you try to force someone to read something by sending them unsolicited emails/pop-ups ect. If you were to say....post a blog...one that the general public can CHOOSE to read or DISCARD, this would not be SPAM

Spam is the greatest meat creation in the history of man kind. Fried spam and eggs is the bomb!

I prefer SPAM hash and potatoes! Or the almighty SPAM burger!

I was born in the hometown of SPAM, and it does my heart good to see it so appreciated...brings a tear to my eye even

I love that crazy stuff!

"I'm pink - therefore I'm SPAM" but I wouldn't feed it to my dog

You was not banned for spam!

Your other name was banned because you did not read terms of use or FAQ section.

You will not advertise on this site for staking.
That is a major no on our site and will not happen.

So before you start making trouble and get you IP banned from Railbirds.com please read over what you should have when you joined this great community.

the email i recieved said this simply "spam is not allwoed on this site" that was it....that was the only explanation i was given. and I read the rules, it says you cant ASK TO BE STAKED, says NOTHING about offering to stake others. this is the rule Can I ask for staking, loans or trading of funds on Railbirds.com? No! Doing so will result in you getting warned or worse. The risk of somebody getting scammed is simply too big. If any members start harassing you for money via private messages, blogs or the chat room, please report it to a pro-rail immediately. says nothing about offering, i understand the risks involved your email said nothing about staking people, it said i was deleted for "SPAM" it was one sentence with absolutely no explanation I just dont see the difference in this, then people recruiting for clans, or for bounties or anything it just seems like your picking and choosing who gets to break the "rules" or not if it is a rule...then you shouldnt let some people slip and others not .

and i also did read your terms of use... im not 100% sure you did though, because if you did you would CLEARLY SEE that the Terms of Use make no mention of Staking people whatsoever the only mention is in the FAQ and the FAQ rule states that a person can't ASK people to stake them
HHTB Jul 17, 2008 12:17 am
did u read rule #13 from terms of use?

* advertise or offer to sell any goods or services,

and Rule 14?
SHERRY524 Jul 17, 2008 12:17 am
  • Chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added.
  • Salt (for binding, flavour, and firmness)
  • Water (to help in mixing)
  • Sugar (for flavour)
  • Sodium Nitrite (for colour and as a preservative)

Yes, an e-mail offering to stake people is spam in my book. It is a pm that I would report to the prorails, ask the first thought that comes to mind when I receive that kind of an offer is scam.

There is no poker site around who's minimum requirement for a deposit is so much that even somebody working minimum wage couldn't afford. So there is no need to stake somebody or somebody offering to stake another.

"Spam" messages to me are any unsolicited pitch for products or services that is sent on a mass basis to people with whom the solicitor has had no previous contact or business relationship. Deception (e.g., false return addresses, misleading subject lines) is often involved but not essential.
