A work day in the life of me

Jul 15, 2008 4:45 am Report Abuse

Ahhhh so I'm a bit bored Thought I'd share a typical work day in the life of me.

First I get up about 3:30 pm shower, get dressed and head downstairs to grab something to eat or watch some t.v. Typically I'll grab a bite and play around with the little on, tossing her on the couch or flipping her about until about 4:30 or so.

4:30 pm I tell everyone goodbye and head out to work. It's a decent drive so I end up doing a lot of thinking and day dreaming during this time, it's a wonder I haven't gotten into an accident yet, lol. Typically I get to work around 5:20 pm to 5:30 pm. I'll come in get a drink, sit and chat for a few minutes and then I'm heading up to my work area at around 5:40pm.

Now I work in front of 4 computer screens, where I run operations for a factory making computer chips. Typically I have one screen open to RB's so that I can do my thing on here and still be able to do my job. I monitor and control several different pieces of equipment in the factory so at times it can get quite busy.

Around 10 pm. I'll head out for a short break, maybe grab something to eat if I'm hungry and then head up to work again. I'll do the same thing again about 3 a.m. About 5:45 a.m. the next shift arrives and I give them the scoop of what's going on and I head out.

I usually get home about 6:45 or 7 a.m. if the wife and lil one are up, usually they aren't, I'll hang out with them for a bit playing with her and things like that then I'll head up stairs. Most times I just grab something to drink and head upstairs to the computer. I'll play some poker and do some research until about 8:30 or 9 a.m. then I'm off to bed so I can rinse and repeat the next day.

Exciting huh? lmao Man I need to hit the lotto!

I like my schedule actually lol I work 4 days off 4, work 3 off 3 and so on every weekend is a 3 or 4 day weekend for me How can I not like that?

Only thing I don't like is my weekend starts on wed. and ends on Sat or Sun.

wish I could have a computer at my work with RB window open. But I'm in retail, so I would have to choose between customer and RB. Most of the time I would choose Railbirds

Years ago I worked a shift like that, and it definitely has an up-side; no crowds in the stores, little traffic, and on your nights off it's very easy to stay up late with friends or at the bar....the downside is that the kid next door always decides to mow the lawn in the middle of your "I need sleep NOW" time
