I Got A Poker Math Question.

Jul 8, 2008 11:55 pm Report Abuse

Joker Johnny bought into a No Limit Holdem 6 max ring game for one hundred times the big blind. Joker Johnny lost two pots to Donkey Dan in which he had to call a three times the big blind raise from his big blind. He missed the flop, was bet into and folded. He folded all other hands including his small blinds. Joker Johnny now has eighteen hundred and sixty dollars left, at what limit is Joker Johnny playing?

**************************************************************************************

If you said that Joker Johnny is playing at $10/$20 limits and bought in for $2000, then you are correct.

Make sure to subscribe to my blogs and I will come up with some more interesting poker math questions later. The next one will be a little harder.

Good Luck on the tables!

Easy question. He is playing $10/$20 levels.

1860 = 100b - nb, n is the number of BB, b is the BB

What is n? It is at least 6.5BB (2 x 3BB +1 SB) if he waits for BB. It might be one SB higher = 7BB - if we analyze this just b4 his next big blind. Otherwise if he buys in,without waiting, it will be one BB higher. So n can be 6.5,7, 7.5 or 8.

The only reasonable answer assuming the Casino doesn't work in fractions is 7 for a 10/20 blind. 3BB, SB, 3BB, SB.
