My BEST slow-play

Jul 3, 2008 6:09 pm Report Abuse

First of all, I really don't like slow playing. I just think it's too dangerous to risk anyone else catching, because that usually happens to me. Ha ha. However, I will pull it off if necessary. This is a really good story. I think................... This was a live game, and the person to my right just got knocked out, and he was to be the dealer, and me the small blind, so I just dealt for him, still being the small blind. Hope that made sense. Basically, I was first to go even though I was dealing....................... I look down and pick up KK and just call the small blind. There are four players in the pot, the blinds (including myself), 1 in middle position, and one in late position. I start to deal the flop. I do the three cards down and slide them all out, revealing an 8 in the window, and then following 8-K, and I insta-checked as I sat back down from dealing in the middle of the table. I flopped KKs full. BB checks, Middle Position bets, Late position calls, I call, and BB folds. 3 players........................ Turn comes a J. I check again, Middle Position checks,Late position bets and I call, Middle Position Folds. Heads Up................ River comes a K. I check with quads. Late position moves all in and I call right away and flip over the absolute nuts. He had AJ, showing a pair of jacks that he caught on the turn. I doubled up and actually ended up winning the tournament..................... Now, normally, whenever someone insta-checks, it's kinda obvious they have the nuts, but I think it's because I was dealing that made the difference. Normally, it wouldn't, but the fact that I checked while I was at the tail end of the dealing made it seem like I wanted the hand to be over. But there wasn't even any draws out there so I really don't know why everyone else stayed in when I checked. On the outside of the whole thing, there was no reason for me to check unless I was just being an idiot. They must have but me on like 33 or something, I really don't know how they let me double up. Maybe the people I was playing with are just really bad. HA HA HA.

Just a tip for you.... this is probably a good story..... but without a few paragraphs and spaces between sentences no one is going to read it.
