THE ANIT-QUIZ

Jun 19, 2008 2:26 am Report Abuse

I have all the respect in the world for this site, but the quizzes are usually quite useless, so here is a quiz to HELP the upcoming ametuer players of the world...

Q: During Hold 'Em tournaments, why does everyone say it is better to play tighter early on, and looser later?

A's:

1. Establishing a table image early so you may successfully play looser later and hopefully and successfully steal blinds and bluff.

2. As the ante/blinds increase, you get better pot odds for hands that are a "long-shot".

3. As the ante/blinds increase, you will lose chips in the long run waiting for the "top four-ten-fifteen" pockets cards.

4. Playing too tight in late rounds against observant opponents will lead them to NOT give you action when you hit the nuts with big antes/blinds.

5. Value/odds of drawing hands (straights/flushes) increase and lower hands decrease.
