As a few of you know, I am a little bitter(okay a LOT), with a current situation I am dealing with. A few weeks ago, we had to renew our parking passes for our Condo, through the HOA. An issue arose, and there does not seem to be a work around, or any exceptions to the rule.
My Roommate, I Eat Styrofoam and my self, both have company cars based in MD, however, we live in VA. Per County Laws, unless we want to pay personal property tax on company vehicles, we have been informed by the Home Owners Association(HOA)...Irony is, I have been parking there 8 months with my car!
That we are not allowed to park within the community....NOT even in my reserved space!
This ruling came directly from the
Who from this point forward, I am simply going to refer to as...The Nazi
What makes less than no sense to me, is I am allowed to park out on the road, still in the County, which is a bit of a hike to my front door...eh, exercise I guess!

I have created a private Tourney on FT, that everyone is invited to, and a great time for everyone who has to deal with their own HOA Nazis to come and vent.
As I know a few others experience the same thing, I thought I would add a pic for 'ncbluez', as her issue with them is just as ridiculus as mine!

The Event is up for registration on FTP, and is called:
Down with the HOA Prez

Feel free to invite any/everyone you know, who has dealt with their own 'HOA Nazi'.

I want in! I have some great stories
what's the buy-in?
Oh that's nuts! I live in Alberta, we park our trucks on your trucks and if you don't like it then pull your skirt down, your vagina is showing ya sissy! LMAO
Can park on the street but not in your reserved spot...how does that make any sense at all? Is this affecting anyone else in the HOA? Have you lobbied other people to get them on your side? Start a letter writing circle to him, them do a picket and get media. I know it sounds silly and like a lot of work, but come on NOT IN YOUR RESERVED SPOT?
Go buy some good cookies, the gourmet ones, go knocking on your neighbours doors and get them on your side. When does this cracker go up for reelection? I could see if you wanted to paint your condo purple or put a huge fountain the spurt blood in the front yard but this makes no sense to me at all.
Beni, the old tennant above us jsut sold her condo, as she tried to get everyone to vote the nazi out..guess they were all afraid, as that was 3 months ago, and he is still here!
have we have to have dealt with HOA to be bale to get in tourney ?? LOL
If not i am in
GL every1 and have fun
Hickoid

Hey Twinkies I don't have the Buyin for the tourny but I may have a solution to your parking problem .
Talk to your company and let them know what is happening , then if they agree that you can do it let the HOA tow your car and sue the HOA president in small claims court where he can't have a lawyer to represent him and I believe that you will find that you won't have this problem for long .

LOL had to do that .
It's a good day!
Dear Sir,
Thank you for your timely response. However, regarding county code and state law, exemptions ARE made for persons residing in the state. These exemptions include, but may not be limited to, military personnel and drivers with vehicles registered to an out-of-state company. Since both Mr. Twinkies and Mr. Foam do not own these vehicles, and ****, Inc does, these laws and codes don’t apply to them.......... ..........” Both of these vehicles are considered to the state as company (commercial) vehicles, however, they are provided for personal use to our employees as well. Being such a large metropolitan area that includes DC, Maryland and Virginia, there are thousands of residents that cross state lines each day for work; many of them drive company-provided vehicles.
I’ve placed a call to the Virginia DMV and the representative there confirmed that these vehicles registered to our company are exempt for any by-laws or county codes because the driver’s of said vehicles do not personally own them. In fact, she said that as long as it is registered to the state of Maryland under our company’s name, then there is no problem. Both vehicles are listed as garaged in Fairfax County with our insurance company, The *****. Should you require proof of that, please let me know and I will provide it for you. I will have the CEO of our company follow up to this email with a phone call, but in the meantime, please let me know if further information needs to be provided.
I’m asking on behalf of Mr. Twinkies and Mr. Foam that you please allow them to renew their parking passes for 2008.
ALL Followed up with a NO!
Dang Twinks, if ya only lived closer, you could park in my driveway. Wish I had time to play, I would love the stories I'm sure. But, on a lighter note, at least you aren't in S.E. where you know what would happen if ya parked on the street eh? lollll take care and gl on the felts.
I know it's expensive but an innovative solution to this problem might be to hire a helicopter and land it on the front lawn each day explaining to the Nazi that he has left you no choice. OR, contact your local chapter of Hell's Angels and loan your parking pass to a few of your new 'friends' for a couple of days.
Being unwilling to bend breeds a lot of irrational responses and it is usually the one who is un-cooperative that gets 'burned' in the end.
his tire will go flat...he'll have it fixed...put the cap back on.....and it will go flat again
