I don't blog to often however i went into my E Mail today and found a letter from the PPA (Poker Players Alliance).
These are the people that are fighting for our rights to be able to play online poker and they are calling for poker players here in the US to make our voices heard in Congress.
This will only take a few mins of your time and we need to be heard and fight for our rights.
please go to the following link. they have 2 E Mails already written and you can edit the Emails to add your own words if you would like. If not just send off what they have wrote up already.
If you scroll down on the page there is a info field to fill out and then just hit send.
This will send E mails to the House as well as the Senate.
Lets be heard and do all we can to help the PPA fight for our rights to play online.
Thank you guys

Location:
Downtown Marriot
500 E Broad St
Richmond, VA 23219
Entry: $500 tax-deductible donation
This charity poker tournament will benefit the work that Prevention Connections does to prevent and reduce tobacco use through education, intervention, policy development and community outreach to improve the health of individuals and communities in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
From Prevention Connections:
Have you ever watched WSOP Final Tournament on TV and said to yourself, "I play better than some of those players!" Then here is your chance to see how well you play against other poker players from your area - and it's for a good cause, helping to prevent Virginia's young people from using tobacco products. Your ticket to play for a chance at the $10,000 seat is a $500 tax-deductible donation.
You could be in the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event July 3, 2008 - July 15, 2008! We hope you will join us. Tickets for the event will be on sale through April 22, 2008 and will only be sold online. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Space is Limited!
The event is April 26th, 2008 and there will be a morning session and an afternoon session. Once you register to play you will receive an email letting you know which session you will be playing in. If you have a preference for which session you would like to play in, send an email to charitypoker@preventionconnections.org and we will make every attempt to accommodate you.
The PPA is a scam. They keep asking for donations but they don't do anything except tell you TO DO THE THING THAT YOU SHOULD ALREADY BE DOING! Where is the money going?????? They're worthless. I've tried to be taken off of thier mailing list but I still get emails. How are they helping? They do nothing but piss me off when they tell me that they are helping by MEcontacting my congressmen MYSELF!
I am a constituent, voter, and poker player asking for your support.
Specifically, I ask that you support proposed legislation that clearly exempts the great game of poker from the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA). I also ask that you sponsor and support legislation to repeal the badly flawed UIGEA outright. With UIGEA regulations now pending, the debate on these issues has reached a tipping point, and new voices are emerging against UIGEA every day.
Please send to your Sen. and Rep.- Sending this in Missouri!!!
There is at least one lawsuit pending in the state of Washington that the PPA efforts and support got started that will do away with the states law against internet poker.
There has already been one Federal Court ruling in favor of poker players through the efforts of the PPA.
Public awareness about the rulings of the WTO against the United States is through the efforts of the PPA. Those WTO rulings are kept in secret, but the PPA got them out into the open.
some of you guys are saying the PPA is a scam.
I am a member and i have never sent them a dime.
yes they ask for donations but they don't make you donate to be heard.
What they are doing is for poker players here in the US.
Like buttondog said we need a organized effort.
If it wasn't for them sticking up for our rights our voices may have never been heard in Congress.
Without them we could one day go to sign on to our favorite poker site to learn we no longer have the right to play online poker from our homes.
The people that think it is a scam... eighter don't live in the US and if you do and still think this is a scam why don't you just go ahead and give up your right to play right now and uninstall all of your poker room?
Jimbo, through the PPA we have eye to eye personal contact with our law makers.
How does the PPA give us this? All they have done for me is harass me with emails with phone numbers and email addresses.
There is at least one lawsuit pending in the state of Washington that the PPA efforts and support got started that will do away with the states law against internet poker.
That is a good thing but I would like to see how much the PPA has contributed. And now what about the other 49 states?
There has already been one Federal Court ruling in favor of poker players through the efforts of the PPA.
Which one? I remember seeing a couple insignificant rulings but didn't hear anything about the PPA being involved
Public awareness about the rulings of the WTO against the United States is through the efforts of the PPA. Those WTO rulings are kept in secret, but the PPA got them out into the open.
The WTO always releases thier rulings. I heard about the poker thing on FoxNews. All the PPA did was link to the report from thier website.
Not only are they our voice but they keep us up to date on things that are going on regaurding on line poker.
For Ex. this is good info and something we should all know here in the US.
