i was wondering the same thing. i got $5 as well and i'm not sure why?

They only give you 2 weeks to use it or they take it back

from my understandin, some ppl that have nvr deposited get $5 2 play w. u must spend it n a set amount of time or they will take it back. like 1 or 2 weeks.

It's just a promotion. they pick people and give em $5.. take it, use it, don't question it...

I don't believe they will take it back in a specified time frame. You can check your tournament history or I think the best option would be to write to support@pokerstars.com and ask them for details :-)

They do it to show you how fun it is to play with real money, knowing that most people will either lose it all or not be able to substantially build on that $5. It increases the chances you will deposit in the near future.

Most people got the free $5 but it does come with stipulations. You have to use in within 14 days or they will take it back.
