WE'RE BACK FROM VEGAS...OMG WHAT A VACATION!!!

What A Fabulous 4 days in Vegas! Here's where it all started at the historical Flamingo Las Vegas As we walked into the room the first thing I noticed was the padded headboard..LOL And then of course the 42" Plasma TV Steph checks out the bathroom...and "yes" that is a TV in the bathroom mirror. Here is our view from the top floor (28th) What are these buttons for? About 30 minutes after arrival we get a knock at the door saying "Room Service" We figure it's the wrong room and much to our surprise this is what's delivered to us congratulating us on our 5yr Anniversary from our friend and fellow Railbird KatAtonic. THANK YOU VERY MUCH KAT! Last year we did all the Tourist stuff. This time we came out to play POKER POKER and MORE POKER! SO LET THE GAMES BEGIN! Day 1. Our first night there we did a $60 Buy In Tourney @ the Flamingo. 43 people registered and Steph made it to the final table and went out on the bubble finishing 6th. An awesome job for my Beautiful Wife! WOOOOT! I went out about 15th or so, I was creeping up on the final table. I wasn't getting the greatest cards but I was hanging in there with a little below the average chip stack. I finally get KK in middle position. The blinds are 200-400 I raise it up to 1600 and the SB calls me. The flop comes 4, 5, 10 (rainbow). He checks to me and I bet 1200, he calls. The turn comes King..I JUST HIT MY SET!!! Once again he checks to me and I go All In with my last 1000 chips and he calls. HE FLIPS OVER A 3 (hearts) WTF? Why the hell would he call me with that? The river comes a 2 and he hits a gut shot straight. DAY 2. I woke up before Steph and she wanted to sleep in for a little while so I go down to the poker room and sit down at a cash table with $100, $1-$2 No-Limit. I've only played cash games about 2 or 3 time before so this is all new to me, so my plan is to just sit back and be very observant of what's going on before I get too involved. My first hand is A Q off and I'm just to the right of the button and I raise it up to $8 the BB calls me. The flop comes K, 10, J (rainbow)...MY VERY FIRST HAND I FLOP THE NUT STRAIGHT! (So much for my sittin back plan...LOL). The BB bets $10, I think for a minute and re-raise it to $20. He immediately goes all-in with about $50 and of course I immediately call. The turn is a K giving him a full house. From $100 to $30 in the blink of an eye (I'm just glad he didn't have me covered) I sat around for another hour and got my stack back up to $95 before I left the table. Later that evening.... We walk right down the street to a cool little place called O'sheas and register for a $30+$15 tourney @ 7pm about 35 ppl register with 2000 starting chips. We ask to sit at different tables and every few minutes I hear Stephs table get all excited, lots of action over there. About 45 minutes into the tourney she turns around and gives me the thumbs up sign. I go out right before the break and look over at her table and she's sitting on about 8,000 chips! She's ROCKIN'!!! Everyone breaks for 10 minute and it's looking like she's gonna be there awhile so I go up front and sit down @ another $1-$2 No Limit cash table. I'm doing pretty good , I'm up about $75 and my phones rings and it's Steph saying "You're not gonna believe this, you gotta come check this out!" I excuse my self from the table and rush back to the Tourny Room and this is what I see... Steph and only 2 other people in the tourney and she has a nice chip lead about 3 to 1 on the other 2 players. I go back to my cash game and about a half hr. later she comes out saying they chopped the pot for $260 and she claimed 1st place due to her chip lead. WOOOOOOOOOOOT WTG BABY! That was Stephs 6th Live Tourney! AND SHE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO USE THE BOOBY TRAP! After all the excitement's over and Steph gets her cash I tell her to go get $100 in chips and come sit at my cash table. I get back in my seat and Steph sits 3 seats to my left. She barely sits down when the cards are dealt. NOW KEEP IN MIND STEPH HAS "NEVER" SAT AT A CASH TABLE BEFORE !!! (Once again $1-$2 No Limit) She's is middle position, she has player that limped in and Steph raises to $7 the BB calls...The limper calls. THE FLOP... 10s, As, 6s The limper checks, Steph bets $10, the BB calls...The limper goes All In for about $70...Steph calls...The BB calls putting him All In for about $70 as well. HUGE POT About $250! The moment of truth comes.... Steph Shows 10, 10, She hit a set of 10's!!! The limper shows Js, 9d just a flush draw, wtf was he thinkin pushin like that? The BB Shows Ah, Qd...he just couldn't lay down the A w/Q kicker. STEPH MADE A VERY BRAVE CALL BUT IT WAS THE RIGHT ONE....STEPH'S IN THE LEAD!!! THE TURN... Qs....OMG The limper hit his flush....DAMN! The BB hit 2 pair and could get a full house! STEPH JUST GOT CRUSHED HER VERY FIRST LIVE CASH POKER HAND. THE RIVER..... Not only did she almost triple up, she also got a High Hand Bonus of $80..LMAO She raked in about $260 (profit) her very first live cash poker hand. DAY 3 AND 4... Ok, don't want this blog to start boring you so I'm gonna wrap this up. Day 3 I finally had a nice 2nd place finish in a Tourney for $150 (Only 23 Players) and day 4 had a 3rd place finish for $210 (23 Players again and Chopped Pot) and we both did good at the cash tables. Day 4 though we both kicked ass on the cash tables. We both sat down with $100 and quite a few hours later I cashed out with $400 and Steph cashed out with $250 and she was down to $30 at one point. She made an incredible come back and she has proved to be a very solid poker player after only playing for 8 months...Look forward to seeing her in the 2010 WSOP Main Event! :-) We Thank You ALL for you friendship and support. Since we have joined Railbirds we have met some great people from all over the world and have made some awesome friends. YOU GUYS AND GALS ARE THE BEST! We had a great time in Las Vegas and we're so glad to be able to share our experience with our friends who can truly appreciate great poker stories. We are glad to be home though...WE MISSED ALL OF YOU AND STEPHS GOING THROUGH BLOG WITHDRAWLS. You'll be seeing her shortly...After she weeds through her 146 PMs that she has in her Inbox.
