my only advice is don't get in a hurry to make your bankroll big. it is gonna take a lot of time, so be patient, play at a level where you feel comfortable and win consistently

good luck to you

whether your playing live or online, I find that you will experience alot of bad beats whether in a tourney or a ring game so don't let that bother you. If you want to grow in playing poker you have to set aside your fear of bad beats, because it will happen for you and against you!
