I don't know of anyone that puts money in their poker account for the purpose of losing it. Everyone, want to win as much as they can, and more. Here's what think is very important: Go by Chris Ferguson s micro bankroll management tips, I believe it's called"from zero to hero". Also, never, ever, under any conditions, either cash out or loan out any portion of your bankroll until you have reached the stated goal. This is a game of streaks, the winning streaks are fun and everyone can handle those, but in order to reach your goal you'll need to go through losing streaks too. You'll need all your bankroll to stay alive. So, keep it intact, until you reach your goal. Of course, like the rest of us always try to improve your game, by learning as much as you can about the game. Best of luck to you.

dont enter any high tournaments if your up one day, because if you lose then your back to were you started, and dont enter a tournament that you dont have 50 times the buy in and your sure to win

Stay within your bankroll. The not exposing more than 5% of your bankroll rule that Chris Ferguson recommends is a good idea.

Also, Kristi Gazes wrote a good article for FTP about dropping down limits during a bad run of cards. If you are a cash game player, don't be afraid or embarassed to drop down to lower limit games that you can afford if your taking a beating at higher levels. If your a tournament player, then go to smaller buy-in SnG's and MTT's if you are not cashing consistently enough to at least cover your buy-in's. And with MTT's, you should expect to cash less frequently than you do in SnG's. But those MTT cashes should be bigger.

If you would like to see how I am doing in my 3rd or 4th attempt at an on-line bankroll, see http://www.railbirds.com/blog/154925/building-an-on-line-bankroll-turtle-style-updated.html.

Good luck, anything is possible, but in my personal opinion, don't set your goal so high that it is no longer a goal but a dream. And I'm not trying to be rude, negative or mean here, so I hope you don't take it personal.

Why not just set your goal at $100, achieved it, then $1000, so on and so forth.

Here is my example: won $4 early Dec 07' it's at $400 now and trust me, it wasn't easy to go from $4 to $400. But then again, maybe I'm not as good as you. Anyway, good luck on your quest.

Icallu...so don't bet
